Hi everyone, longtime reader of posts but first time posting., I purchased a Masterpiece Arms Comp Chassis for my Tikka online and paid extra to have it 2 day shipped. Went to put the action in the chassis and realized that out of the two screws they gave me for mounting that action the shorter front one didn't want to go in smoothly but the longer rear went right in. Took it out measured it with a caliper and the stock Tikka mounting screws and the longer rear MPA screw were all the same width and the wont that didn't fit was wider and it also has a weird looking head that doesn't look the same as the other one. The one on the right is the one that doesn't fit.

I'm wondering if anyone knows the size and if I can just go buy one locally as I paid an extra 30 dollars to have it here quick and ready for a weekend trip and my rifle is sitting in pieces. Going to try calling tomorrow but by the looks of Facebook comments they don't always get back to people so thought I would post here too.

thx in advance

I have been known to take things to fastenal and just set it on the counter and tried a hundred different things til I found what worked best. I'd let them know if I was gonna bring in a rifle though.

Also, be careful that you don't get one too long. It can very easily interfere with the bolt and effect the ability to get good solid lockup when you got to chamber the round and shoot. I was having light primer strikes awhile back and eventually figured out this was the issue.

I'll measure mine in a bit for length and update it here, I'd just get an M6 bolt from local hardware store and cut it to fit. ACE hardware usually has a good selection.

Update on situation, I reached out to Masterpiece arms and customer service has taken care of it. They put a set in the mail overnight to me. I will update once the bolts get here and are the proper ones.

NewsShooter Thank you for offering to measure yours for me. You idea is what I was thinking but wasn't sure on the length as it is different from the stock factory bolt and since the one they sent me was the wrong width I'm guessing the length is probably not correct either.

Didn't measure the rear and I just realized as I was measuring my mpa, that it has an impact action, not enough sleep last night. Tikka is in an XLR, that being said I'd bet it's pretty close to the mpa/impact. .977 from top of the head and .730 from base of head to end of bolt for the mpa/impact . .75 overall for the XLR/T3 and that's an estimate, though it should be close enough, as my arca rail covers the front action screw and I didn't want to take it apart. Sorry I can't be more help.
You could always thread the longer screw in finger tight and measure the extra length and subtract the difference. I try to keep a collection of good quality bolts around than I can shorten to fit. Buddy of mine just got a couple GRS stocks for his Tikka so I bought some torx bolts that I could trim when I put in pillars and bed them for him

I like the idea of having extra bolts for my rifle for when if ever the need arises. I'm going to try and get a list of all the possible sizes for this rifle. I was also wondering if the type of medal and or hardness mattered for the action as I know things like that can change how things work slightly and with something like precision accuracy I didn't want to spend this much money and mess it up with something so small.

thx again for taking the time to get the measurements!
