Let’s put on our sarcastic surprised faces. The fake apology is no surprise he’s been a douche for years. He also doesn’t think you should be allowed to own firearms so fuck him either way

Who is Tim Kennedy?
Venturas a cunt either wayWell that's not exactly funny, but it's a good example of people proving their loyalty to a poser.
Self delusion can be hard to break out of. Personally I'm embarrassed to admit I believed Chris Kyle over Jessy Ventura for a long time.
Well, you should be. Chris Kyle's tales were simply too tall to believe. There were too many of them, and they were ridiculous. Good guy. Hell of a sniper, but full of shit.Well that's not exactly funny, but it's a good example of people proving their loyalty to a poser.

I have one friend in particular who served long and with valor and who has many sea stories that require no embellishment at all, yet he can't seem to help himself. He exaggerates EVERYTHING, and he doesn't need to at all. He doesn't seem to understand that it doesn't make it a better story. It fucks up an already great story.
It helped that Ventura is such a dick. As I said at the time. I like Chris Kyle. I don't like Ventura, but I believe Ventura, and not Chris Kyle.
Some people just can't seem to help themselves even if they are already the real deal.

Nah, he’s just a glory hogThe government creates heros who the population tires of a war. A sniper is the easiest way to do it because the civilians think its a solo effort. They believe the movies and think there is a man out there alone on the battlefield just yeeting people from the shadows and disappearing into the smoke. Hathcock was a government invention, so was Chris Kyle, Audie Murphy, Alvin York, etc. They all do it. The Russians might be better at it than we are. The Germans were good at it. The British do it, the Canadians do it, everyone does it. You take a guy who looks like the boy next door with a plausible background and you make a hero out of them for the world to see. They are as much victims as anything. They look for people who are morally flexible..I remember reading Hathcock's book about 10 times as a teenager, believed every word of it like the letters were written in red. When I was in my early 20's I stumbled into his now famous series of video interviews, and within a couple of minutes i realized I was listening to a sociopathic narcissist and a liar. It was so blatantly obvious. When you realize the lengths the government will go to to accomplish this shit, it will make you sick. Both Marcus Luttrell and Chris Kyle had admitted that they came back from a deployment and where told they had written a book, and this is what it says. Some of them love the sunshine it brings, and some of them eventually fall apart under the weight of the lie. I expect Luttrell to be suicided any minute now for breaking from the story, while he's also pushing for psychedelics for ptsd treatment. The government and big pharma are probably in a race to see who can get a noose into his closet first. They've probably already written the suicide note. I think there are reasons to believe that Chris Kyle was killed because he was talking too much and messing up the narrative.
I think he was just opportunism. He just happened to be a good mma fighter, so .gov was handed a gift there. They jumped in behind him when he made himself famous.Nah, he’s just a glory hog
I don't disagree with you , but I met Hathcock several times (near the end when he was crippled up in a wheelchair) selling his book and schwag at the Tidewater Gun Shows, and he was one hell of a nice guy would sign everything some Boot Camp Barney would push at him, talk to anyone, and he treated everyone with the same respect he was shown. Granted, only talked to him across a table a few times, but he seemed genuine and very humble to me. He was nothing like these guys on the internet. He was an example to me of how you are supposed to act even when everyone knows your name. The government creates heros who the population tires of a war. Have you seen his video interviews?I don't disagree with you , but I met Hathcock several times (near the end when he was crippled up in a wheelchair) selling his book and schwag at the Tidewater Gun Shows, and he was one hell of a nice guy would sign everything some Boot Camp Barney would push at him, talk to anyone, and he treated everyone with the same respect he was shown. Tabbed Ranger, Green Beret, multiple combat deployments and UFC fighter. He is a tabbed SF Ranger. Why does he feel the need to embellish? Those tabs alone are noteworthy enough unless you are an very insecure narcissist.
Liars gotta lie.Tabbed Ranger, Green Beret, multiple combat deployments and UFC fighter.
Pretty much a mystery to me why someone with a resume like that needs to tell any tall tales.
The guy lied about committing war crimes. THAT HE DIDN'T ACTUALLY COMMIT. Wtf ?
You should listen to him describe the method he used to attach it, while looking at an M2. It's uh, kind of obvious what you're listening to.You mean he didn't actually use an 8x plain cross hair unertl on an M2 to hit a human over 2500 yards away?
No objective aspect of the story makes sense to me.You should listen to him describe the method he used to attach it, while looking at an M2. It's uh, kind of obvious what you're listening to.
Look, I know how it goes as far as team talk and such. It can be like guys telling fishing stories. The explosion was always closer. The pain was always more. The numbers were always more. Etc.TK was a Green Beret and UFC fighter- how are those fantastic accomplishments not enough?
I think generally speaking you’re probably correct in this. I will say this, hathcock didn’t write a book. Someone else did and I’m sure it was with interviews with him. Hathcock and EJ Land DID write the book in scout snipers and it really set the standard for a lot of how things are done in the bush. Now there is some new cat named chuck mawhinny and he’s claiming that he’s the real sniper and everyone else is a fraud. The government creates heros when the population tires of a war. Interesting, when I went to sniper school in 2009, everything was based on the FM23-7. I don't think that's current information.I think generally speaking you’re probably correct in this. Not only that he competed in the UFC while maintaining status as a green beret on an ODA. Not only competed but was ranked title contender. That alone makes him one of the hardest dudes on the planet. He is a tabbed SF Ranger. Why does he feel the need to embellish? Those tabs alone are noteworthy enough unless you are an very insecure narcissist.
I find him rather dapper...good chap.I was thinking of buying a Staccato. Looks like it'll be an Ed Brown.
And I'd have to be a bit suspicious of anyone with that taste in clothes, thats some tacky shit.

I think that’s more team guys than not. There’s an addiction to feeling important.Almost like an addict who couldn't help themselves.
.Gov needs SF heros because everything they do can can be hidden, you can't FOIA anything. The government creates heros when the population tires of a war.
