I'm planning on getting an AICS for my Remington 700. I already have a Timney trigger.

Will I have to modify the stock and/or trigger during installation?

I've heard of people who didn't have to, and there are others who say the stock needs to milled a bit for the trigger/safety to fit.

Re: Timney in AICS 2.0

Just did the same thing a couple months ago. Was told by vendor that the Timney/Rem 700 combo was a drop-in for the AICS, but quickly found out that was not the case. It took me a little bit of time to figure out where the interference was coming from. Ended up being a pin that protrudes when the safety lever is actuated. I could install the action as long as the safety was either on or off (can't remember which), but then could not move the safety lever.

I am no gunsmith or gun wizard, but I corrected the situation with a Dremel tool. Take your time and make sure you know where the interference is coming from before grinding metal.

Hope this helps.

Re: Timney in AICS 2.0

as stated above, there is a pin that moves out of the side of the trigger housing when the safety is engaged. you can file that pin down so it is flush with the side of the trigger housing when the safety is off and the trigger should fit fine in an unmodified aics.
