Hey all, i ordered myself a Timney trigger last week and it should be arriving tomorrow. I'm looking to get some shooting in this weekend and would REALLY like to have that sucker in for it. Is the install as easy as the Brownells videos and other forum reviews easy as it seems? I've done some 'smithing before in AR's (barrel swap/rail swap/trigger groups) but never the trigger on a bolt gun.

Is it really just as easy as popping out the pins, popping the trigger in and tapping them back in place??? Sorry for the noobish question, it just seems too easy to be true.

Thanks!

Yep, took about 20 minutes to break down the rifle, pop out the roll pins and put it all back together. Heed the warnings about the springs and you'll be good.

Hopefully you'll be extremely happy with the Timney like I am. I had read reviews where folks didn't like the wide shoe, or it required them to partially inlet their stock. The width is just fine for me and it went in without a hitch. Excellent buy for the money.

i actually enjoy a wider shoe on my trigger, much more of a positive feel on it. Also the 2.5lb setting will be super nice over the 4-4.5 lb trigger on my stock trigger unit

The trick is to drive the pin out just far enough to let the trigger drop free, but not far enough to release the spring and lever from their positions.

well i installed it without a hitch! I never realized how simple it would really be. Has anybody noticed after installing one though that the bolt seems to have a little more pressure against it when it gets racked back? I noticed a slight silver streak on the underside of the bolt body. Is this normal?

The trigger and cocking mechanism work perfectly fine though. It survived every test, even the "Mallet to he buttpad" test. Thoughts?

JCONE - It really is super simple. Like others said before, just make sure not to knock out the pin holding the bolt stop in place too far or you'll have to fiddle with the spring and thats a pain in the butt.
