Timney Trigger for Rem 700SA?

Re: Timney Trigger for Rem 700SA?

The 510 is a great trigger. I'm currently procrastinating buying a 517 right now (straight trigger). Heard guys say they are a better "field trigger" - in other words more resistant to stuff in the field that could get in there, compared to the Jewel triggers- however I cannot personally attest to this.

No. All you need is a punch set. Very easy to install and tune you're self.

I have the 517 in my R700 and a 102 "featherweight" in my Mauser 98... They are both GTG!

I've been eye-F'n that 517, as well!

I just ordered a Timney trigger on sat and got it yesterday and I installed it myself in like 20 minutes, very easy to install. After installing it, I was really impressed after a little tuning! really smooth and crisp. Enjoy

Re: Timney Trigger for Rem 700SA?

I put a new 510 in my R700P while replacing the floorplate assy with a PTG unit when home over the holidays, piece of cake. If there's any questions or doubt about DIY you can have a smith do it or simply google & youtube to your hearts delight taking your time being careful to not loose anything. Out of the package it works but needed tuning to get it where I liked it, also not a problem at all.

My rifle was brand new, had a 40X trigger from the factory but I wanted to give the Timney a try and for the money it's tough to beat.
