I know WHERE to get them, but I forgot HOW.

Army sells stuff to surplus stores. Every base has a warehouse where they process this stuff. This is where the used GI mags that are plentiful here come from. At infantry bases with ranger and SF units too, they are damn plentiful.

I know army isn't suffering, and they aren't restocking the green follower mags anymore either. All green follower mags are to be turned in and replaced with the 3rd gen brown follower mag (the Brownell's model) unless the green follower is from new stock only.

SO, there should be shitloads of these green follower GI mags just sitting in a warehouse waiting for someone to buy them (and before the Pmag craze, these were the shit). They also have the brown follower mags too (pretty sure, based on who I buy my shit from). I just forgot the process or even what it was called. It has been over ten years since I went to that place.

If anyone knows what I'm talking about and they PM me with relevant info, I will go down to Ft. Lewis and register for the scanner and go shopping. I need to know the damn acronym and name though --most soldiers don't know this even exists. I'd look it up myself, but I wouldn't recognize the name. I can't go drive around looking for it because I don't have a pass anymore.

If anyone can point me in that direction, I'll go get 'em and sell them for price plus $1 to any hide members. The rest will go online for the profit.

Pretty sure they have enough there to fill up my truck, the Korean lady I know ALWAYS has tons of these and this is where she gets them, but she plays stupid with me when I hit her up for the location.

This post is serious. I won't be checking this either because all I need is the PM with the name of whatever the processing warehouse is called. Any current/former supply guys out there?

    You might look at govliquidation.com
I'm not sure if they deal in mags, but they have about everything else imagineable. They sell via online auctions (not just set prices in a store). They're who I got my deuce and a half through.

Re: Tons of AR mags cheap

Used to called DRMO. Most items are sold at an Auction. It was a long time ago when I was in..So things may be different these days.

I'll support you in any way I can.

Okay, thanks guys. DRMO or DRMS (maybe they changed it to DRMS?) Anyway, that rings a bell and I'm on the phone trying to figure out the process. It may take some time (If I'm even able to find these!). But I'll sure try.

Mags are crushed for scrap or given to LEO's or "other" governments.

You might find ammo cans and M9 bayonets and spent brass. Mags are a nogo.

Actually govliquidation says they are out of stock. In WA anyway, and I didn't search other locations. DRMO said I could come in and get the scanner (the lady I talked to was new though) but I don't know if I can buy from them or if I have to use the contractor.

I know you can't get weapon parts. But they also don't consider some AR parts as a weapon (mostly the plastic parts) and I know full well mags are not treated as restricted. They may end up under "scrap metal" though, and I've heard half the used mags are just that (which doesn't surprise me).

I KNOW the Korean lady that runs the surplus store ALWAYS has them and by the damn pallet too. But she won't tell me anything, and I have to negotiate like Donald Trump to get decent prices there. I got all my brown follower mags from her new and in wrap for less than $10 ea. --somehow they were contract over-runs when the manufacturer (Brownells) said they were STILL filling contracts and not selling to civilians? Wonder how much that costs us.

If the demil code on mags is D, then I bet she gets the new ones from contract over-runs before they hit mil stock, and the used ones are likely considered scrap. This way they are not surplus war materials. But I do not know for sure.

Anyway, for now it looks like a no-go. I'm sure they are there, but may be hard to get. And if govliquidation gets them first, no telling since they are online... I won't give up yet though.

If you have DRMS (what they call it now) in your area, give them a call. See what they say. I'll be going regardless sooner or later because of all the other shit they have.

PS, heard they are sitting on shitloads of HK AR mags. New ones, soldiers won't use them because of weight.

I don't know where you're going with that comment, but if that's the faint sound of sarcasm with a slight hint of racism how about we don't do that shit here...

You're right. It was a stupid thing to say. My apologies, all.
