Have a small project to put together and need some expert advise from you guys.

I have been asked by fellow shooters (mostly new to long range shooting) and a couple local PD guys to put together a list of range tools and or a kit. Something they could start with and build on themselves or maybe a complete kit.

Seems like no matter the shoot and or evening of blasting prairie dogs I get asked for a tool from the kit I always have with me.

Honestly I don't carry a ton of stuff, but probably more than some. I carry it all in a small plastic Remington .22 ammo case that I acquired years ago.

    Basic items include:
    -Leatherman
    -Leupold Allen Wrench combo
    -Borka Torque Driver (just acquired)
    -Various allen/torques bits/T Handle
    -Couple Punches
-1/2" snap on (2" wrench), various cut down tools/wrenches.
    -etc etc

What I am looking for is a pouch that is similar in size to a range book cover that has some good organization in it for small items, etc. Have been wanting to do something different than the old Rem ammo box I have, but it works and I just haven't taken the time to research yet.

What do you suggest looking at?

One option is have a custom tool kit made out of 1000D multicam. I could build you one specific to your tools no problem.

Try the Tactical Tailor E&E Pouch. I bought one a month or so ago so that I could switch all the stuff that I normally carried in the stock Otis cleaning kit pouch into something that was more flexible in terms of storage capacity and accessibility. It's a pretty good size, something like 6.5" X3" X 1.5" and has the ability to bulge out a little bit too.

To give you an idea of what all it can carry I packed everything in it that I have listed in my Practical Field Maintenance Kits article as going into the Otis Sniper Cleaning Kit. In addition to that I can also fit a Seekonk 65 in/lb torque wrench, two bits, a Leatherman Supertool, with plenty of room to spare. I think it's definitely worth a look.

Fellas, Thanks for the info. I ordered a TAG unit the other day and it definitely works, but just may look into a custom unit. I like it a lot and probably don't need anything else, but may have to look into Sot Consultings offer on this. It could grow and hold more items, shrink and accommodate more essentials, or just fit our exact needs.

Will try and post pics of what I have put together later. Darn sure open to suggestions on what else is needed, have too much, etc.

    Thanks,

The TAG Tool Pouch is very well made. Well thought out and definitely works. A bit on the pricey side at $70 plus shipping for my project, but it is darn nice.

A couple pics. Need to reorganize and downsize, have some doubles now due to the Borka just added.

It looks good. You might also want to consider including a Lenspen and a packet of Q-tips since they seem to come in handy at various times. Other than that it looks like a pretty well rounded tool kit.

Not sure why the lens pen isn't pictured in the last pic, but if you look close when it is all loaded, it's there.
