Also does anyone else notice how many of the shooters do not or even try to ask for help from the guest instructors? I am sure that Jeff Gonzales and Taran Bulter would be able to show then something.

Bingo! You have a direct line to my thoughts. Jake and Lil Red are wearing on my nerves. It is obvious they pick folks predicated on their ability to inject drama. Don't get me wrong, there are a couple wild cards in there that know how to handle a gun but those tend to be specialists.
Rock throwing was a bit much.

I suppose rock throwing is good practice for repeatability and body/muscle awareness,which is crucial in archery and shooting. Just playing devils advocate. Jake is a dick.

Jake's competitive. He's learned, wrongly, somewhere along the way that being competitive includes demeaning your competition and downplaying their accomplishments. Good natured smack talk is one thing, but he's just mean spirited. He needs to grow up. Maybe seeing himself on TV will give him an appreciation of how much of an asshole he is.

The red headed kid brings it on himself, he's a tool.

Why do I watch this show?

I was torn over whether I should post this or not. Since everybody seems to generally not like the ginger, Michael Marelli I believe is his name, it was justified in my mind.

Jake is a F-ing tool. I expected him a bit of a chip on his shoulder, but he's a major league douchebag. He stepped up in last weeks elimination, but I would have been happy to see him get his ass handed to him. Hopefully someone will resolve that soon.

Anyone else hugely impressed with the camp councilor? If someone had told me he was a world class shooter, I'd still be impressed with his performance.

We here are also impressed with the Christian camp counselor, and hope that he continues to do well.

On another note, I've learned a lot about SEAL's here on the Hide and a few other places.
This one is sure doing a lot to 'erase' all that I've learned. I know better, of course. But look at the image, eh?

You would be suprised. I have maintaned from the begining of being in the service that SEALS and really any elite group of people like them are a different type of person. There are few that would take the time to even talk to you. The ones that do are a class of their own(BJ). Don't get me wrong they have gone through a lot and have proved they can do some pretty amazing things and a lot of true heros... they just dont do well around "normal" people lol.

OK, the soulless ginger bothered me before but...really? Blegh. I have no desire to watch the video. Jake is a tool, yes. He has not done well in all the events, but when the pressure mounted and everyone was against him, he did perfect. THAT alone is one of the things that probably helped him most in his military career. But seriously, would this guy even get along with other "un-normal" seals? The SF guys I personally know(including one SEAL) are different than most people, but mostly class act pro's.

My money is on the camp counselor Dustin to take the money. He is a very nice guy and is impressive with his shooting. Unlike the ass hat Jake, he has a little humility.

I'm just waiting to see what ol' Jake will say when he gets eliminated... So far he's a dominator, I'd like to see how he handles losing. Every season of this show has at least one douchebag that manages to make his branch/ex branch of the military look like complete idiots. It's funny though, the Marines have represented themselves pretty well on this show.

If Jake falls on his own sword I doubt anyone will shed a tear. He does / did very well under pressure but really has a chapped ass about being sent to elimination. He seems like a control freak and he had no control over being sent so he has some issues about it.

Once eliminated split up his gear and toss the rest in the yard.

Jake is a full toolbox for sure, but I have a hard time believing for one second he's quitting.
Being a jerkoff is one thing, but being a quitter is entirely different and I just don't see it tracking with his attitude thusfar.

If he is leaving the show I have to think something else happened.

At any rate it was a good teaser, got me wondering.

My take on Jake is that hes there for the money more so than bragging rights to be the winner. If he can weed out guys he thinks are going to be difficult to compete against he will do so without blinking.

The other competitors are more about winning because they went up against the best and earned the title, dont think any will turn down the money but thats not the prime motivator.

All in all its Jake is a typical reality show guy and I think if the show lasts more seasons there will be more like him. Wouldnt be surprised to start seeing some former competitors with thier own shows. Maybe Jake will replace Mac on Future Weapons...how annoying would that be.

I use to work with a former SEAL. He was a complete 180 in the attitude that Jake has. I don't think Jake presents the mentality of the SEALs in a postive way, and I don't think Jake's attitude can be acredited to the training, and experiences in the military. It seems that this is who he is. He was probably like this in the military, childhood, school, and since he is a coach, probably to the team he coaches. I agree he is a hard charger, but he took his team and tried to mold them to what he wanted instead of using their strong points. When he does good its "Oh, oh, look at me." When he drops the ball, its "Fuck you, I'll kick your ass."

Yelling at your team and belittling them prior to seeing where your strengths and weaknesses are at is poor tactics. He is not a leader, he is a dramatic, spoiled, egotiscical, arrogant bully. Anyone who tells him to go fuck himself gets a little respect from me.

He just quit the show after being voted into an elimination challenge, didn't even try to compete. Weird move on his part as he seemed to be a contender. I'm so sick and tired of people pulling the race card to cover up for their inadequacies, so if that's true, good riddance he would have been a stain on the otherwise high caliber winners had he won.

I had to laugh. What a loser...seriously, stick around, have some class, and earn some respect for sticking it out and making a decent showing, even if you do get sent home. Quitters are quitters, and nobody likes a quitter. I'm competitive, and I hate losing, but losing control and whining endlessly, then quitting before you lose...is just lame.

I'm glad he his gone. What was the point of just walking away? Did he give up on his fellow SEALS when they needed him? Pry why he is no longer a SEAL. They pry told him to leave or he was going to have an accident. Anyone who is going to get you killed is the enemy, regardless of what side they are on.
