Rifle Scopes TRG 42 with IOR 9-36 zero range issues

can't seem to set my zero for anything closer than about 280 yards. ??
pulled off the elevation turret to make sure it wasn't hitting a stop and still no dice.

I'm using a 20MOA Warne base. how would I check to see if it's out of spec?

optic has 50MOA of adjustment range.

Mate had problems with that exact scope on a 20 moa rail got it altered to a 12 Mia rail and he got a 100 yard zero if I recall correctly. Great optic but no elevation he swapped out for a nxs 5 -22
