It seems that badger ordnance is the standard when it comes to custom rifles. Are there any other options that could save some money when doing a custom build or is it worth it to pay a little extra for BA?

Re: trigger guard/DBM options?

diver,

There are so many good DBM options now, it would be hard to list them all. But just off the top of my head:

Badger Ordnance
Seekins Precision ( 2 kinds, original , or AI compatible)
Hooper Ordnance
CDI
Surgeon
Watts Outdoor
R&D Precision
V-Bull
H-S Precision (Not AI Compatible)

And I'm sure I left somebody out, but those will get you started.

Re: trigger guard/DBM options?

I went with CDI Precision DBM and alpha mags. Haven't used them yet as my rig is being built but they look high quality. From what others have said, CDI and the alpha mags work great. Badger will get a lot of votes but I didn't feel I "needed" to have it. The alpha mags are cheaper and not as long as AICS mags. Just a thought...

Re: trigger guard/DBM options?

I am going through the same thing right now but I decided I am going to go with R&D for a few reasons. They are high quality and they have a couple options for what kind of magazine release you want. All brands listed are good to go but based on my personal taste that is who I am going with. Check out there website. http://www.rdprecision.net/parts2.html

Re: trigger guard/DBM options?

All listed are good choices. I went with Surgeon because I'm running a Surgeon 591 repeater. I will say I like how the Surgeon supports the magazines better and has a smaller mag release.
