I have a stock daniel defense V1. It has so far shot accurately, reliably and overall great besides one issue....

I always 'follow through' on all my shots, more specifically I hold the trigger back until all the recoil has subsided and then I let go slowly until I hear the trigger reset.

Well my problem is maybe 1 out of 5 rounds, it just doesn't reset. I have to give it a slight nudge forward to reset it. If you try to press the trigger otherwise, you are unable to as it is all the way back. Give it a slight nudge forward and it resets and is ready to be shot.

I have been cleaning and oiling everything in the upper on a regular basis, but I never really clean or do anything with the lower parts. The trigger break itself is great.

Anyone know what the deal is?

Sounds like a disconnector issue - check the spring for binding or perhaps broken.

More specifically, what can it be?

I took the lower off and did a bunch of dry fires, manually recocking the hammer. At first, the problem presented itself many times. Then after 20-30 dry fires, it wouldn't do it again.

What should I be looking for specifically, to identify the problem. Can it be that I just need to thouroughly clean and oil everything inside? You can see a little bit of grit in the mechanism, but it doesn't look too dirty really.

Ok so after doing some digging I read that it might be that my disconnector piece is a little rough and needs polishing.

    Does this sound right?

UPDATE: I just wanted to update this thread for anyone else that might have the same problem. All I had to do was clean out the lower and it all worked itself out. I didn't even disassemble it. Just used a qtip and poked around all the areas that I could. Has worked flawlessly since.
