I have a Trijicon ACOG. While there is nothing wrong with it at this time, I just read the fine print at their site, and I see that the Lifetime Warranty is limited to the original owner.

A lot of companies make that stipulation on paper, but IRL, to enhance brand recognition and in the interest of customer loyalty, they hold back from doing warranty checks.

Does any second or third owner of a Trijicon (esp ACOG) have a positive warranty return experience with them?

Re: Trijicon Warranty

No second or third owner has a warranty story to relate?

Re: Trijicon Warranty

Not sure how they could check or verify. Of all the ACOGs I've purchased, I don't recall there being any warranty card to fill out and mail in. Also, by law, unless it's stated in their warranty policy, you don't have to prove (with copy of paid receipt) that you are the original owner. Here's a good example; Joe Bob, your cousin in Florida sends you a brand new Trijicon for Christmas because you invited him along deer hunting last Fall. Joe Bob really appreciated your hospitality, and buys the Trijicon, keeping the receipt since it's a gift to you. After verifying that you received the scope, and you like it, Joe Bob throws the receipt away. So who is the original owner, Joe Bob who purchased it, or is it you the user? With the receiept long gone, how do you prove who the first owner (puchaser or user?) is?

I think a lot of what is stated in warranties are a result of laws and lawyers. Most manufacturers will extend said warranties to second and third owners, even though their warranty states first, or original owner.

Good example, thanks.
I think my question is answered.

Re: Trijicon Warranty

I just read a post from someone on calguns that purchased a used ACOG from a gun show... it had fiber optic issues... sent it in, they repaired everything for free and sent it back.

Re: Trijicon Warranty

i bought a TA31F second hand that had bubbles in the optic fiber cable. They replaced it without asking me any questions if I was the original owner or had a receipt. Had it back in less than 2 weeks.
