Trim 223 with 300black die

I fls 223 with a honed die. I'm interested in either a Dillon or Mark 7 trimmer but I don't want to overform the necks.
Could I trim with the 300 black die and just back the cutter out?

I would be setting the datum of the 300black die to contact the outer shoulder of 223 brass.
The rest of the 223 shoulder and the entire neck would be unsupported. This is what worries me about trimming like this.
Wonder if someone could hone out the Dillon dies like Forster does?

OP here.
Dies came in and I tried it. 300 black trim die just made a ring around the 223 case shoulder before getting a good grip.
FAIL...
