I'm looking for a decent priced case trimmer that works for both the 50 bmg and the 338 lapua. I've read about how some 50 bmg trimmers have to be modified to work with the 338 and since I know nothing about trimmers I though id ask the experts here!
Also is a case gauge necessary? For precise reloading? Thank you

You didn't specify a power,or manual trimmer.I have an older model gracey trimmer that works good on both calibers, but I tried a Giraud trimmer last year and it's alot better than the Gracey I have.I don't know if the new model Gracey is better now.
I have a forster manual model as a backup. You'll get tired of trimming 50's real quick with a manual unit.Spend your money on a giraud,or Gracey and don't look back.

I used a Forster before I bought a Giraud. The Forster is 50 specific I think, so I'm not sure if it will trim 338.

Thanks guys, it looks like the wilson is a good trimmer, just a tad more than I want to pay though. I wasn't able to verify if the K&M works for the 338 lapua. Just trying to spend less than $100 if possible for complete setup.

Do you have a drill press? I had a Lyman (shitty) trimmer for the .50. The part that holds the case I mount in a vise bolted to the table of the drill press. Chuck the Cutter head up and set your depth stop on the drill press and give'r hell, works great. Trimming those things by hand sucked, a lot.
