I have been using said device extensively for 6 years with great satisfaction. A week ago suddenly it stopped working. Fresh batteries, cleaning the contacts - nothing seems to be helping. I am unable to find a contact to the repair service. What would be the best course of action to have it repaired? It is a discontinued model, so I might have to find another alternative solution. What would be your choice for a 200-300 yards capable hand held torch for up to $300?

Thanks Lowdown. I was thinking of a more traditional 850 nm torch. This unit is borrowed by friends on occasions. I would not be comfortable lending a laser device to someone.
