Gunsmithing TROY barrel nut?

I got a 13.8 Battlerail for my AR-10 build. I just figured out that it came with it's own nut, duh. I attempted to thread it onto the upper just to see how well it would go on and I can't get it more that 1.5 turns onto the upper and it locks up like a bank vault. I threw some oil on it and nada. The top of the thread are marked as if the OD of the upper threads are just a bit larger than the ID of the nut. Anyone else have this issue or know of the propper solution?

I think that nut is only for DPMS 308s the Armalites use the stock nut.

That sounds right as this nut does not fit and the web sight says it fits both. The directions do not say anything about which model it is to be mounted on. Good thing I have the AR-10 barrel nut on order.

The directions I've seen specifically mention it because once its indexed you have to relieve the top so the gas tube can clear.But its only for the dpms style.They must have changed the instructions.
