Hi Guys! I know some of you have real field experience with issue gear, such as the official Gortex ECWCS... but I'de figure that I could take a minute here to write a little review about the version made by Tru Spec...

I bought a set in multicam from opsgear.com couple weeks ago...
After reading some review of it I was getting spectical, some were talking about very average performances in term of waterproofing...

I had the opportunity to test the jacket and pants two weeks ago during my moose hunting in northern Canada... Temperature went from okay to shi*y.... rain, snow, more rain, more snow...
Here my appreciation of it...
For less than 200$, this set is just plain awesome... I stayed dried and warm the whole week... I had many layers of syntethic clother such as underarmour and Nike fit pro combat + H/H fleecees... Breathability was good and waterproofing perfect...
Here are the only downside..
First: The waterrepelency of the external layer is not that good, meaning that it gets wet but DOES NOT soak through the membrane, meaning you still stay dry under..
Second: The zippers are not YKK, so they feel rough a bit..
Third, the snap on my model were so tight that they start to tear off the fabric....
Fourth... the fit of the sleeve was a bit to short for my arms...

That being said, I contacted Kurt Wendling at Tru-Spec customer service...
After explaining my issue and the fact that I had add a zipper inside to zip in my softshell as a inner layer...
He took care of me like a king... seriously! They are sending me a new jacket, free of charge, with updated snaps and longer sleeves!!! Can you beleive that!?

A huge thanks to Kurt and his team at Tru Spec!
