I just finished lifting my 08 Ranger about 3 inches. I put new torsion bar keys on the fron and shackles on the rear.
My front shocks are too short. The problem is I cant find a listing nor a reference for the length with the mouts for various shocks.
Used to be when I did this as a pro I could go to my local parts store, tell them what I had they would look in their print catalouge and fine what I need.
I used to even have acess to some of the books my self. Parts stores these days have no clue when your outside the normal.
I needed a battery for my 54 Ford NAA that my father converted fron 6 volt positive ground to 12 volt negative ground with an alternator. They could do nothing for me unless I told them what I have and they could look it up in the computer. Sorry Bucko no listing. Had to bring the battery and give them the size code off of it. Had to get the store manager involved to make it happen. Its like they dont want us doing anything ourselves.

Welcome to 2021. If its not standard.....go fuck yourself!
I hear you, and I hate it. I had a slow leak in one of my tires (slightly oversize) and not only did the guy say "we won't fix leaks anymore, but we'll sell you a new set of 4" (this is at a Goodyear tire shop) then he commented that "those aren't the right tires for that truck, so we won't even work on them".

I told him to 'have a nice day' and went elsewhere. Neighborhood garage, family owned, (further down the street) dude was HAPPY to take my money and do business with me. When the time comes, I'll buy tires through him, too.

As an aside, this same Goodyear shop has TWICE been in the news in the past 1 1/2 years for their mechanics taking 'test drives' of the customers vehicles, and going on joyrides which included speeding and 'demonstrative driving' (drifting in parking lots, etc.) The customer had a camera system in his car, and it was ALL caught on tape.

The first one was caught by cops, while in the act.

Great, reputable shop to work at/for, and a place that entices customers, eh?

Well Les Schwab Tires has gone in the toilet. Local shop has tried to sell me , wife, and daughter in law shit that wasn't worn out or needed replacement on our vehicles, verified by our mechanic.

I just bought a set of tires down the road at another shop. Done with those Schwab thieving bastards.
