Truck transport of LAR(Rock River) .556 pistol

Is there some sort of overhead rack system? Or how would you store an AR pistol in a pickup, providing easy access? It's around 18 inches long. Thx.

Not overhead, per se, but take a look at MAGBAR XL - a neodymium magnet system. Can place it just about anywhere. Downside - may not be concealed. But for easy access while you are rolling - works pretty well and is pretty secure. Or - check out greymantactical.com - rigid Molle rack system. Have used it too and it is secure and versatile.

It's strong enough to use the internal parts ( bolt carrier, barrel, etc. ) to grab. Works pretty good.

Store it in a backpack. Provides concealment while doubling as a go bag with gun and extra ammo

The backpack is an excellent suggestion. I lay my bag on the passenger seat with a strap hooked to my seat organizer, so it stays put. Very quick to access while quite concealed. Stores extra magazines and IFAK. Looks like a messenger bag and comes with me at home or work. Very non-tactical appearance.
