Once I've received my cans I am supposed to list them in the assignment of property in my trust correct? Or do they just show up in the schedule A? I ask because how could I personally assign them, they were bought in the name of my trust.

Re: Trust question

list them in schedule A after being approved. if using willmaker, just follow the instructions. i also renororized after adding property into the trust as willmaker suggests.

Re: Trust question

List them in the schedule A. I prefer that its done before the form 4 is returned and the item is picked up becasue I find many clients who forget to add the items onto the scheudle A.

I do not believe that it matters whether you do it before or after.

The trust has an ownership interest in the items when they are paid for by the trust. This is seperate from the right to possess.

Re: Trust question

Thanks for the input. That was the way I thought it should be done. My dumbass forgot to add them to my schedule A, and I just wanted to make sure I was squared away before I sent in another form4.

Re: Trust question

For those that are married did you set up the trust for your wife as well? Most recommended doing it this way just not sure if there was any reason not to.

My only thought was would she then have to sign on the form 4? Then she would know when the collection was growing.

Re: Trust question

It depends on what your Trust says.

If your trust requires two signatures, then your wife has to sign the form too.

If it only requires one signature from any trustor, then you're fine.
