Trying to decide on a 6.5 build...

I hate starting a new thread on this, but I've read the others, researched and researched and still cant decide between building a lapua or creedmoor. Everything I've read, nothing tips the scales other than more offerings of brass for creedmoor.
I guess my biggest question is why is the lapua favored more in competition (according to PRB)? Is not a deciding factor by any means, but there's got to be a reason.

I'm omitting that commercial rounds are more accessible for creedmoor because I reload and haven't bought commercial ammo in years.

The reason for building the rifle is to start doing some competitions here and there until my schedule allows me to really get into it which will be a couple years

Lapua will be slower. I like both but creed you can buy over the counter ammo and roll your own.

Quite literally in the same boat. Going creed purely for availability. My pride was the only thing wanting to go Lapua

Coin toss, that said I will echo other members above, for OTC ammo then Creed.

Creed just so I can buy ammo.

Sometimes for local matches and training it’s just less of a headache if work is busy or I am to lazy. But that really depends on how much you shoot.,

Seriously, cheaper than a TRG-22/42, and works like a champ...

I think the Lapua was/is more favored by comp shooters is because it came first and was supported by top notch brass from the start. It also seems to be a naturally accurate and easy to tune cartridge (not that Creedmoor isn't). Personally, I find appeal in the fact that the Lapua can utilize faster powders like Varget, however, I chose Creedmoor because of the multitude of available brass, an edge in velocity, and better resale value if and/or when I need to sell that rifle.

If you ever wanted to sell the rifle you will be happy it’s a Creedmoor. If you are comparing the ballistics it’s a wash. The support for the Creedmoor is out there no reason to go lapua anymore.
