Trying to Decide what shot timer to go with

I need to get a shot timer to train with.

I was all set to get the Competition Electronics Pocket Pro, when I noticed that for the same price, I can get the Pocket Pro 2.

The sequel (if thats what we wanna call it) has more features, but less buttons, I'm thinking that maybe the 2nd gen (Pocket Pro 2) is gonna be more complex therefore and less user friendly.

Anybody got some thoughts or experience in this matter?

We use both. The pocket pro 2 is smaller, but is harder to adjust the par time, etc. I like the interface on the pocket pro much better. Neither is that loud - wish the horn was louder, especially if you double up on ear-pro. The ones we have are durable enough. They bounce around in the back of the truck, heat, cold, and no issues. We've had them for years.

You can download multiple applications for an Iphone / Itouch etc for free shot timers. If you have one available to you.

Thank you both. Suspicions confirmed on the pocket pro 2 then- that's enough for me-so I just ordered the pocket pro.

The gun club I shoot at bought 7 of the Pocket Pro II 's about 2 years ago after our Pocket Pro's ( older white housing model) got stolen. We had to send 3 of them back for repairs in the first 4 months we had them and I now have 2 more that I have to send back. The Pocket Pro II also seems to go through batteries faster than the old model.I would stay away from the Pocket Pro II and buy the Pocket Pro if I had to do it again.

I and a lot of guys I know run the ced 7000. They are small lightweight and rechargeable. Pretty affordable also at around 100 bucks.

My CED 7000 is great...I can hang it off my belt and move like I would during a stage, might be tough with some of the bigger timers.
