.22LR is still hard to find here in Southern California. I just bought my son his first rifle but he has almost no ammo. Anyone know any vendors with well priced stock?
several place, just google/yahoo. about 30 seconds found, ammo to go from time to time, cabelas now, cheaper than dirt. the time it took you to make the posting you could have found a place to order it.
Or google. Plenty available now, just maybe not on the shelves of your local retailer. I wish you luck so that you can get your son out there shooting.
Cabela's had CCI MiiniMags earlier today. For maybe an hour. Yesterday evening they made 1000 round boxes of Winchester.
Someone (maybe Midway??) had CCI Standard, Subsonic, and Velocirator a couple of days ago.
It also depends on what you are willing to pay. If you will go 11 - 15 cents per rounds, a good bit out there. Under 10 cents a round, you have to catch if and order quickly. If you are willing to pay centerfire prices, there is plenty available.
Go to your local Wal-Mart on the morning after the truck(s) come in. Here locally that's Saturday morning, so if you're there early enough (give or take six AM because they roll the carts out at seven) you can get your three bricks (three "boxes" is the limit) for pre-panic prices. $7.99 per 100 rounds of CCI with no shipping charges is hard to beat. This is coming from a guy that absolutely loathes Wal-Mart.
ETA: Same goes for any caliber you're looking for. Some stores even tell you what was on the truck if you call the night before.
Already gone, I'm afraid. With their prices, you have to move fast.
OTOH, locally I have been able to get 325-round boxes of Winchester bulk ammo for $21 out the door at Dick's. Not great, but not a total ripoff. They seem to re-stock at least once a week.
Thanks guys! All good advice. Found a whole bunch via gunbot, ammo seek and from Hiders! Will watch for that Walmart truck. Best price I got was from other Hiders!
