Rifle Scopes TT525P, increased turning resistance at low end of magnification?

Have to TT525P and one of them has (slightly) increased turning resistance going from 6x to 5x, also the "wall" at the end of 5x is kind of mushy (whereas on 25x it's more "defined").

According to TT, this is due to them maintaining a tight tolerance with the erector tube so the issue may be experienced on some scopes, but the up side is better tolerance means better optical performance at higher end magnification.

They are happy to rework the scope to improve the feel, but thought I'd check with the Hide to see if anyone else experience the same, and whether a lever (e.g. one from AAD) helps with it.

A lever would naturally help by giving you more mechanical advantage. Do you even need 5x? Not sure what you're using the scope for buy my 5-25x scopes spend about .1% of their life below 7-8x so I wouldn't even notice it in actual use.

I don’t own a TT, but yours is the first complaint I’ve heard of. If you spent $4k on an optic expecting perfection and you don’t think you should have to buy a lever to get there, send it back and have them try to rework it.

I agree with generalzip though, how often you going to utilize 5x?

Every one I’ve owned or messed with has a tight mag ring.

Byproduct of extremely tight tolerances.

It’s just taboo to complain about TT. But complaints pop up from time to time.

So, it’s not so much an “issue” as it is just the result of being well constructed.
