Twisted Barrel

Re: Twisted Barrel

Never heard of them. Some interesting looking flutes there. Pricing seems on par. But some of the designs look like someone got their hands on a cnc for the first time and went nuts.

Re: Twisted Barrel

Cool looking stuff, I like the arrow one. You could top it off with a FTE and have everything pointing at the enemy.

It shot fantastic and looked just as good. He also makes dies, bushings, and solid copper HP bullets spun down off copper wire. I've had him make me some bullets and weird sized bushings that weren't offered by the main manufacturers. One of my buddies had him build a .20 PPC and .20 Mink that also turned out great. I'd highly recommend him. Decent prices as well. </div></div>

This is what I was looking for. Thank you.

Yes, I want the spiral flutes on the bolt because I like the way they look, and for no other reason. I also want the Tac Ops bolt handle because of the way it looks, and I like the feel of the one on my buddys 700. If these guys do good work, I want them to install a brake on my rifle. I shoot alone alot, and want to spot my own shots for obvious reasons.

Re: Twisted Barrel

I like the looks on some of the barrels, and as cool as the fluted, skeletonized, and dimpled bolts look, that is one piece of real estate I would want minimal material taken from. I understand the idea behind for fluted bolts, but, you gotta figure the bolt has the tolerances and specs from the factory for a reason. Most flute designs arent that intrusive to the amount of metal machined out. Unless you you do work where dust/ice is an issue, it serves little use except looks. Not to mention the skeletonized bolt handles. All the horror stories I have heard with the handles breaking that havents been modified.....pass. Unless you are really bored with money, or have issues that fluting will solve.
