Hunting & Fishing Two Dead Dogs

I went out with my buddy Steve for a little coyote action today. Woke the first one up and he got it at 315 yds. #2 found an 87 Vmax at only 62 yards. I'm shooting the AR10T in .243 Win and 87 Vmax combo. I use H4350 43gr and a 210M primer. Sub MOA performance to 700 on inanimate objects. Good times.

Yep. The fur is coming in real good. The 87 VMAX is not the most fur friendly bullet however. Tried to cover most of the insides that were now on the outside for the pics if you know what I mean.

This country is AWESOME for coyotes. Not only is it close to home and full of coyotes, you can see for miles and you can get some real long shots that test your meddle. I'm pretty sure we passed up on a metric ass ton of prairie dogs to concentrate on the coyotes too. Some fun stuff right there folks!

I would defiantly have to agree with this area being great for them. Unfortunately since i moved down here to Trinidad i haven't been able to get out and do any dog hunting but i see them way to often.

I fly down to Trinidad often. East of I-25 is STOOPID with coyotes. Almost all of it is private land. However, it never hurts to knock on doors and ask these ranchers politely for permission to whack some dogs. I saw three next to a stock tank the other evening and was begging the pilot to fly back to my house so I could get my rifle! A triple would have been way too cool.

Not to sound dumb--but when I was in high school, a friend of mine and I trapped yotes and other creatures and sold the pelts.

Does anybody sell the pelts anymore? Is there still a market for that or does the huge hole in the pelt, detract the sale?

FFL,

That cammo you're wearing blends in really well for the area you're hunting in, and it looks like it would do pretty well in some of the area's I'm looking at during the late summer/fall. Is that Desert MARPAT??? What's the name of it, and where did you get it from?

Yep desert marpat. USMC issue and thrown out/worn out. It's not up to muster for uniform wear, but just fine for hunting. I think Propper makes it.

Man, I wish I could have been there! You still shooting high? I think we need to shoot that over the Oehler. She don't lie.

Maybe I need to go to the hobby shop for some paint and sponge that AR!

I think the scope's not holding 0. Just put the old V-16 back on though. I know that 1's up to par.

I'm going to the range tomorrow, to rezero...and run it across the chrono, instead of screwing around with approximate's. I should know better than to compromise the system.
