Frank Mir had a hell of a fight along with Jon Jones!
Jones has scary talent and had a 10.5" reach advantage, he was to much for Machida. That standing choke was straight up nasty.

Never saw anybody in the UFC put to sleep standing up before. It probably did more damage when Bones dropped him than putting him to sleep did.
Sounds like Nogueira also had a dislocated elbow and shoulder.
Even the prelims were exciting. The first fight only lasted 7 seconds!

nah..jones is a real fighter....silva is a lazy man with a very padded record...it would be a very quick and brutal death for silva

I would love to see Jon Jones & Silva fight, although I dont think Jon would win. Silva has the best stand up in the game & Jon has no power in his punches. The only padded record Silva has is the pad he puts on his opponent heads. The fight would have to go to the ground then Jon would have a chance but Silva is still a black belt in Jujitsu. With that all said I would love to see Jon win but Sonnon is going to beat him to it. Sonnon has power an a ground game!

Jon has no power?, He dropped Machida with an extremmely short left, it happened so fast you almost can't see it, and then the standing choke was irrelevant because Machida was basically out on his feet anyway. By the way, most people don't realize how advanced the grip he used on the standing choke is... basically comes fom a grip used to submit a guy with an 'arm in' guillotine. Most guillotines are a wind pipe choke not an artery choke, which is why guys will tap but not go out. The way Jon does it, you have about 3 to 4 seconds and then lights out!

Why was the punch short because Machida was coming in throwing a left which added to his power, did he get caught yes. But he jumped up ate a couple more punches an a knee. Jon has accumulated power not KO power look at his hay maker right hand that landed flush earlier no problem for Machida. He only has two KO on guy's with bad records one 5-3. All other are TKO accumulated punches. Don't get me wrong he is a great fighter but Silva is hard to hit an he hits real hard.
