hi, a few years back i purchased a Dillon 650XL....embarrasingly it's still all brand new in boxes. i had planned to use it as i was competing in pistol and shooting a lot but an injury changed all that.

Thought about selling it but i still have a fantasy of one day getting back to pistol.

Anyway, seems like a shame to have it just sit there still in boxes....been reading about the Uniquetek Floating Dillon Toolhead. Is this a worthy addition?

A couple of aftermarket toolheads are out there. Very pretty but not necessary IMO. Especially not for straight walled calibers. I have/tried a few but can get equal results with the factory toolhead - even with precision rifle rounds. RO of .001, usually less and shoulder bump the same.

I don’t have a 650 but do run Armanov tool heads (similar to Uniquetek) on my 550 for .223 and 6.5cm. I’m still testing whether they make any difference.

I think the most important thing for precision reloading in Dillon’s is just learning the press.

for pistol or bulk ammo, nah, the factory ones or the ones off eBay work fine

please let us know how the Armanov product works out...really curious

Still doing my first batches with the full armanov setup, so we'll see how it goes next round without the Armanov setup. Initially I FEEL like my bullet seating is more consistent with the armanov setup.

Heres the thread I made on it a while ago. Planning to update as I have more time this year....just had my first kid so things have gotten set back a bit lol
