My paperwork for a Gemtech Sandstorm was sent over 6 months ago. My last 3 transfers took less than 3 months through the same dealer. Other current transfers are taking around 3 months with this dealer.
I finally figured I would call the ATF and see where my transfer was. I called the dealer to get the serial number, but of course I had to drive down there for them to give it to me. I think they didn't feel like looking it up. I get the serial, call ATF in the parking lot. ATF says the can isn't in their system, it is still shown as being at the dealer.
ATF asks if my check has been cashed. The dealer charged my card and sent his own check. I go back in to ask if they know if the check has been cashed, they don't answer, they just say lots of transfers take this long. They also say that transfers aren't put into the ATFs system until they are approved.
I have no idea if my paperwork was lost or on the dealers desk or what.
I'm never using this dealer again.
