I have several boxes of M852 match ammo from the early 90's and yesterday I was shooting a couple boxes through my new Savage 10 FCP-K.
I was having a issue with a few of the rounds chambering tightly.
I would slide the bolt forward but the bolt was tight in locking up.
This only happened on a few rounds but this concerned me as I am thinking that this could cause wear or damage to the locking lugs of the bolt or barrel.
I did get the bolt closed and this ammo did perform well as I was getting .5 moa groups.
Like I said I have several boxes of this ammo and would like to use it, but don't want to cause a issue with my rifle.
So what do you guys think?
Is M852 OK to be used in a .308 chambered bolt gun?

On my Varmint rifles, I purposefully just barely bump the shoulder back, and let the camming action of the bolt finish sizing the brass in the chamber.

You will be okay, and it is'nt anything to worry about.

The cases are to long or out of spec. This has happened to me with a hard lockup on military rounds measured the cases yep out of spec.
