Does anyone know if USO plans to have their phones up at running anytime soon? I tried calling but the message says they are still relocating. Must be running behind schedule I guess.

I’ve pretty much given up on them as a company at this point. They have really upped their social media presence but what good is that if your product isn’t getting out there?

I used to have couple scopes from the a few years ago. But after a sour experience I have with my LR17 and literally drove myself to their facility (I'm about 1 hour away from them) to fight with them about it. Nothing really resolved, I gave up on them too. Sold the 2 scopes I had and NEVER use any USO products again.

I tried to call for info about a new scope, the ts8x 1-8, and got the relocating message. Should I just skip it all together?

Hard to say. Looking on their facebook they're resuming normal operations. I have a sneaking suspicion that whoever was supposed to update their phone number on their website dropped the ball. Their site now says "North Carolina based" but their phone number is still from Monata. I'm kind of surprised they don't have a presence here on the hide.

I'm a new member, but have been reading a lot about optics here. From what I've gathered uso isn't quite what it used to be.
I'm hesitant to run the ts8, unless someone did a decent review of it I can check out. Would be going on a scar 17.

Only time will tell sadly. They have really been changing their social media game and have gotten their optics on some nice hardware (HK and JP to name a few) not to mention the whole rebranding since leaving the original EREK knob. But like I said above I think the bigger issue is that their product hasn't made it into a lot of hands especially since they had a spat of very bad QC for a bit. The precision gun community isn't very forgiving and once you lose the market's confidence you have to work overtime and then some to get it back. By that I mean you have to get your gear into the hands of some top shooters (which they have) and you have to pretty much show up to local ranges and have a presence (sort of doing that with NRL).

Will they get it back? That has yet to be seen.

As to your SCAR17 optic unless your heart is set on USO there are better out there. They will set you back more money but you get what you pay for.

I'm weighing all my options, which there seems to be an ever growing list, the more I look. I'm trying to keep myself around $1k for the optic, plus I'll be getting a new mount (adm delta most likely).
I'm leaning towards a 1-6 or 1-8, but might decide on a 2 or 3 min power.

I was able to test out the new TS 8x. It’s a pretty solid scope. The glass is amazing at its price point. If you have any specific questions, let me know.

About USO not responding..... I’m sure they are having relocation issues and busy at NRA. Their customer service has always taken care of me. I would not hesitate to purchase a USO.

I'm sure USO makes a decent scope, the ones that I've seen have been good.

There are too many other companies out there who want your business and will have you a scope to your doorstep in a matter of days. Between the lack of QC and the inability to basically give them away in the PX, I don't think they're even remotely a front runner in this market anymore.

They run a good PR game, though.

I haven't had to send one back to 'em yet but I've talked to them a few times and some emails back and forth. I have an LR17, ER25, SR8 and spotter/observation scope. They all work great and I love the SR8 --at 1x it's like a reflex sight and as the mag goes up the reticle transforms into less of a reflex sight and more of a simple tree reticle. Awesome on an SBR'd Grendel.

I don't have any of their newer stuff but the B10 sure looks nice to me. USO offered me a great price but I just couldn't pull it off at the time. I guess if they're in the process of moving they may shut the phones down in order to get everything upgraded and installed and new state will equal new phone numbers. Last I talked to them they were planning a pretty big overhaul it seemed. Maybe this is what they were talking about.

They've always been sort of a lower tier 1 optic I guess, built like a tank and indestructible, good glass and well built with a good array of features, tended to have simpler reticles, a negative for those that want the latest and greatest complex tree reticle but I think the new ones address this. The EREK turret allows you to get max usable elevation from the scope. Got good deals on all four I have on here in the PX. I use one on an SR25 and one on a .50 HTI rifle, both at home in their respective roles and only complaint is they are a bit on the heavy and sorta long side. While I may put a different scope on the SR25 some day, the .50 will likely keep that ER25 for life. Probably the same with the SBR and the SR8 --it's like it was made for this rifle.

So I'd say find an SR8 and go with that. They pop up on here from time to time and are really nice 1-8x optics good for 0-x00 meters. And I'm sure they'll be back to normal once they get settled and the phones straightened out. At the same time, I can't discount what others are saying either, so be savvy.

The PX has been filled with scopes being bottomed out, every manufacture. I was wondering why the market has tanked so bad.

This is true.

You know, this could be a good thing. More scopes at competitive prices. ??
Second this and I'm noticed it too. Prices are tanking on scopes right now, especially in the second hand market. Maybe they aren't moving because tax returns weren't as high? I'm just spit balling at this point.

As to the expos I know most companies at least leave behind a skeleton crew to man the phones and keep the lights on or they leave a message saying "Hey we're out of the office." My biggest thing has been waiting for a replacement scope since January when the lead I was told was always on the order of weeks rather than months. Maybe it's growing pains with the move to MT, then now to NC.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I guess time will tell.

@elmuzzlebreak our phones are back up and our team is back from NRAAM. Thank you for your patience thus far. Although our previous number (406) still plays our relocation message, you can reach us at 828-874-2242. Unfortunately our relocation took longer than expected, but we are back up and running once again. Please give us a call or pm me your contact information and we will reach out to you.

@Cs68 Here are a few links to recent reviews of the USO TS-8X:

Here is a short video of one of our team members torture testing the TS-8X. (More torture test showing the impacts on paper will be filmed and released soon.)

if you have any further questions about the TS-8X, please give us a call at 828-874-2242
