USPS issues

Re: USPS issues

yes. happens to me all the time. I will send something Priority and it will take 5 days when it is two states over. If I send a letter snail mail it gets there in 4.

At lease with priority mail you can get delivery confirmation which will at least tell you eventually the last place it was.

Re: USPS issues

I had a package disappear for a few days, but it finally showed up after I called and got folks looking for it.
No big deal though. It was just a rifle.

It happens. Overall our mail system is really great. Though I hear a lot about UPS and FedEx, they do well, overall, if you consider the volume of items they deal with daily. And yes, UPS has fucked me well a couple of times, but it happens.
Be patient. If youve ever mailed a letter in another country youll appreciate our system, with its flawds

Re: USPS issues

It has happened to me a couple of times over the years (fortunately for me...nothing that I have shipped or was expecting to receive was time sensitive so it wasn't a HUGE deal...just inconvenient as hell). The last time it happened, the shipper sent me the "tracking"/delivery confirmation number the day he shipped the package which showed the package essentially in limbo for over 2 weeks until, without any warning, it showed up at my office. That particular package took 19 days to go from Arizona to West Virginia which was supposed to be priority mail delivered/guaranteed in 3 days!

It happens sometimes, but it is, fortunately enough, the exception and NOT the rule with the USPS.

Re: USPS issues

I think a lot of usps problems are at the begining or the end. Good or bad post masters make all the difference. One place I lived, I swear the post master would open my packages, could never prove it though. Where I am at now, I know her by name, and she treats me REALLY well.

Re: USPS issues

If its important packages, I try to ship UPS because I have had USPS mail take over a month before and it was priority mail. I guess it got lost, only about a 600 mile trip.

Re: USPS issues

USPS here is Las Vegas has the laziest workers I have ever seen, paying extra for quicker mailing options threw them is a total joke as they send it out whenever they decide to get off there fat asses. And they wonder why the poatal service (postal joke)is broke.

Re: USPS issues

UPS is definately more confidence inspiring than USPS. USPS tracking sucks, its random and sometimes doesn't get updated at all until the item gets delivered. UPS on the other hand is generally good withe the tracking. I've had good luck with UPS insurance on a laptop I shiped and it got damaged en route. They paid out relatively easy.
