VA Governor - Will the left abandon him?

I learned a new term today: “Post-birth abortion.” The reason I just learned it today is because THERE IS NO SUCH THING. By definition, it can’t exist. The term “abortion” refers to aborting a pregnancy. If there has been a birth/delivery, then there can no longer be a pregnancy to abort. There is an existing term that does apply accurately, however. To intentionally take the life of any living human who has been birthed and poses no threat to your safety is, by definition, “murder.” They don’t need to get away with calling it something else.

In any debate or discussion, first, define the terms.

The left likes to call the pro-lifers “anti-choice” or “anti- abortion.”

I have started to call them “pro-death” or “anti-life.” I’m sticking to that script cause just like them, the words we choose not only have a definition but convey an idea that will influence the undecided.

That is precisely why I used that term. "Abortion is murder!" - People have grown desensitized to that. post-birth abortion, though? Any sane person would come to the same conclusion I did. (and that you did)

That rules out half the country.

I'm not so sure. I wish there was some accurate way of surveying all the fucks on the internet to get a real sense of what people across the country are really like.

It may be more, it may be less. One thing is for sure, though... There's no way to know for certain.

OTOH, I don't much care at all about anyone coming to a different conclusion.

Well, the leftist are sending emails out... yes, the commies at MoveOn....

(8 years ago I signed a pro-gun petition on MoveOn... when they weren’t checking for approved leftist ‘protests,’ and I get their rediculous emails.)

Dear MoveOn member,
I should not be sitting here wondering whether Governor Ralph Northam of Virginia (or any elected official) is the man pictured in blackface or the one in a KKK hood.1

And yet I am.

Northam has confirmed that he is one of the men in a photo on his own page from his medical school yearbook, published in 1984.

Please add your name to this petition started by MoveOn member Dan D. if you agree: Ralph Northam must resign immediately. There is no excuse for this act of racism. Virginia and America deserve better from the elected officials in whom we place our trust.

In light of the recently uncovered pictures of Virginia Governor Ralph Northam in his medical school yearbook that clearly show him either in blackface or in KKK sheets, Northam must resign immediately.
We would not hesitate to call for resignation if such an image of a Republican appeared. There is no reason to hesitate now.

In 2017, MoveOn members endorsed Northam in the general election along with Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax and a host of dynamic, diverse candidates for the Virginia statehouse. Though we did not endorse Northam in the primary, we supported his ticket in the general as part of the first statewide election in the Trump era. MoveOn subsequently invested in political ads to get Fairfax elected along with rising stars in the Virginia legislature—and Northam to the position that he holds right now.

Which is why our collective voices in this moment matter.

Anti-Black racism has no place in our society. Period. And while we believe steps can be taken toward restorative justice, no apology can justify a public servant who has shown such racist behavior remaining in office.

And we can't have Democratic leaders who don't understand the severity of racism, white supremacy, anti-Semitism, and the outrageous bigotry that blackface and KKK hoods symbolize.

As a member of MoveOn, join in standing for principles that demand a better world. Sign the petition.

Our country has a lot of work to do.

It must confront the history of slavery, Jim Crow, segregation, Native genocide, and so many more policies that did and continue to ban immigration, build walls, and incarcerate Black and Latinx people at inconceivable rates.

Click here to sign and add your name. Then pass it on to a friend.

Thanks for reading.

Thanks for taking action.

And thanks for all you do.

I can't help but laugh at how all this is unfolding. Check out this screenshot from Ministry of Propaganda CNN airing the apology. The whole unfolding of events feels like a monty python skit.

I literally could not believe my eyes when I saw that. Mistake, my ass. What more proof could we possibly have to know that they are pulling as hard as they can for the left?

What about post-term abortions of anti-Constitution politicians? I’m sure we would all be on board with that.

And naturally, CNN in Their coverage “accidentally” said Northam is the Republican governor of Virginia.

Accidentally. Right.

Because their retraction which will air on Tuesday during a commercial for adult diapers will say “And we are sorry that we said racist Northam is a Republican. This was incorrect.”

Goebbels must be smiling up on todays media... from Hell....

After reading Longshot's post, I checked Snopes. And sure enough... they equivocate and say "LBJ" never said that. Waffling at the end that 'he could have."

Yeah... well, listen to the un-transcribed LBJ tapes and ask yourself... which do you think really happened!

Cheers,

The gop should be able to sue and easily win a large judgement for that.

Of course the republicans have no spine and the courts are corrupt

CNN lies a lot. In this case I don’t think they intentionally lied.

They are so biased and bring those biases along with false assumptions with them into the news room.

The presumption that they all worship is that only Republicans, especially white Republicans, are racists.

They get the information that an incumbent Governor’s photo has been discovered with him in black face.

Without knowing his party affiliation, the only assumption they are conditioned to make is - this is racist, so he is a Republican.

Believe it or not, this is the “doctrine of false assumption.”

Here’s an excellent article on the doctrine of false assumption.

Watching NBC last night, they repeatedly stated that the story was broken by a “far right website known for conspiracy theories”, then continued on, with the implication being that it may not be true. Never did they acknowledge that the story was verified, just that this was obviously an attack from the far right and therefore somewhat defendable.

I'd be willing to bet a beer that it was intentional... at least semi-intentional. In other words, rush to judgement, no process to back check. Everyone there not going to question it. And 'knowing' that the apology won't get nearly the coverage in people's brains as the 'later' retraction.

Implant it up front... and it stays forever. Try and change it later... and the imprint is still there.

There is another great book from the advertising world. Must read in the Psy Ops world... wonder if anyone still reads it. Called "Positioning: The Battle for the Mind." It shows how, once a thought is established in a brain, it is very hard to displace. Because people mentally position things and once set... they are set. It's sort of the psychologists' version of the old saw that "First impressions are lasting ones."

Yes, they are.

If your process at CNN is to blame Republicans First... apologize later, then it's because they are positioning. So maybe this was an innocent error, but was deeply reflective of an overall strategy to be the voice of the resistance. And therefore... an easy mistake to make when you are positioned as the voice of the left.

I bet, if you do some digging, you find that CNN either has staff psychologists or has hired consultants to put this whole positioning thing into action. CNN is a giant business as well as a 'news-tertainment' outlet. If they think they are going to make their money/ratings... aka money by serving a certain segment... then that is how they will focus everything from headlines to hiring. There is nothing 'newsy' about news. It's about persuasion and propaganda.

Cheers,

Nah, they knew he is a democrat. His status and name has been in the news cycle in the past few days due to infantcide comments. No way I can believe they were ignorant.

“…Will the left abandon him?”

Will the Left abandon him? Are you kidding me? The Left? The same Left that named a Health Center in Massachusetts after double murderer Ted Kennedy? That worships at the altar of aggravated serial rapist Bill Clinton? That exalts his wife the Butcher of Benghazi? Who celebrates the achievements of pedophilic sodomizer Roman Polanski? Abandon him? Holy shit! He just set himself up beautifully for a Presidential run; in fact I’d put him in first place at this point for the Democratic nod.

I hope the guy gets shitcanned as part of the agenda his own party has unleashed but Im tired of applying the morals of the present to an era at least a generation past.

At just about the same time fuckface was wearing blackface or a KKK robe liberal Hoolywood was having white John Candy wear black face inside a tank in "1941" (a clip I cant find on Youtube anymore) or movies like Blazing Saddles were comedy staples.

The comedians that made present uber liberal Saturday Night Live relevant all did off color (no pun intended) jokes yet Lorne Michaels isnt being brought down.

There is no Ex Post Facto law and Ex Post Facto morality is dumb.

They cannot argue that the story is an attack from the far right when Northam admitted it and apologized.

The congressional black caucus has called for his resignation because an apology isn’t enough.

What I’d like to know is when the black caucus and other Democrats are going to apologize to the people they’ve called racist just cause they disagree with them.

Whether they knew or not, it wasn’t just a little error. It was a HUGE error.

Their retraction is like a cheating wife telling her husband. “It was only a one night fling. It wasn’t like I have known him for a long time. I don’t even have his phone number. So I won’t even see him again. You don’t have anything to worry about. So where are we going for dinner?”

But they are not arguing it as a story from the far right... they are hiding it behind the facade of 'fake news.'

Here's the narrative from NBC: Far right News Site known for conspiracy theories has posted a story that Northam appeared in black face and with KKK references."

In the minds of their viewers... everything after that introduction is now 'tuned out.' Because the source has been quashed as 'fake' and so why listen to the rest?

This is psy-war 101. First, you have to always tell the truth. But there are many truths. Take Coca-Cola. Truth: It is tasty and sweet. Truth: It is fun to drink. Truth: It is good with a burger. Truth: It rots your teeth. Truth: The High Fructose Corn Syrup is bad for you. Truth: Too much makes you fat.

Ok... which truths does Coca-Cola's marketing use? And which do they conveniently forget to mention.

So NBC's 'writers' have a very good propagandists' knack for picking a truth out of thin air... because the fact is... the story WAS broken by a right wing new story... Instant win for the writers! Now they have a perfect way to dismiss the story... or at least implant the idea in their viewers mind that it should be ignored... and an excuse to take it out of the news cycle in an hour or two. While saying "See, we covered it, we're balanced."

Writers are just as capable at obfuscating as statisticians... They are called marketing executives, advertising copywriters and psychological operations practitioner. And, lately, reporters. At least the first three catagories of writers are honest in what they do. They persuade. The reporters... well, they masquerade as telling the one truth... the news. In other words, they are lying.

Many generation native Virginian here. Family is still there, I have been gone for 30 years.
Got wind of this shitstorm, so Iooked this guy up. He was a year ahead of me, and one of my corporals at the VMI.
Racist and sexist humor (think the socially unacceptable humor thread) was everywhere.
All male military college in the late 70’s, go figure.

There are pictures of me out there in a Waffen SS uniform holding an MP40.

Pay attention........

This is the reasoning behind the news this week of "Deepfake" media.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/science...o-blends-Jennifer-Lawrence-Steve-Buscemi.html

The media is promoting the idea that even picture proof is no longer proof.

So when things like this happen the media will say "Oh that picture is "Deepfake" and cant be believed".

The communists have all kind of skeletons in their closet and very soon when they are exposed with proof the media will be telling you "Nothing to see here, just "Deepfake".

I agree with this!

And we'll get the answer when the 'left' decides if his successor is a progressive whack-job or a conservative (aka mainstream) democrat. If Northam's successor is a complete progressive whack-job, then the left will give Northam the flick in a heartbeat.

The party will do the political math. Can Northam's successor win the next election? Can he push the agenda? Is he going to be controllable? Does he have skeletons? They are researching as fast as they can (at least the blackface/KKK question is moot... the Lt. Gov. is an African-American). But if the new candidate is not going to be politically-acceptable to the left, darn right they will support Northam. And so will the media which will receive a series of phone calls from their 'sources' (aka political handlers... ranging from the DNC to Media Matters)... and they will toe the line.

And, yes, Powers... the hypocrisy is strong in these ones. How many Robert Byrd buildings are there... but Civil War statues must be taken down. There are "Kennedy" monuments everywhere, even though they were womanizing, drugged, drinking, Nazi-spying, skiing-into-trees, babysitter-porking, clubbing-women-to-death-with-golf-clubs, flying into the ocean bootleggers... but hey, they were LIBERAL scum. So they should be lionized.

Again... Marx/Engels, Bernase, Goebbels, Alinski, they all spelled it out. No secrets. they told us what their followers were going to do. And did it! Yet people dismissed it as the ravings of fringe people. Mein Kampf was a best seller... it spelled out 1939 - 1945 in vivid detail. Nothing was hidden. Why should we think that the writings of obscure university professors who are advocating for exterminating 90 percent of the human race.. are any less valid? But they are masked in an green agenda... and cute polar bears. And they are good educated 'liberal' professors. So their ideas must be good!

What I’d like to know is when we’re going to hear apologies from blacks for appearing in white- face.

Read this article:
https://theurbandaily.cassiuslife.com/playlist/black-people-in-white-face/

Apology? This shit is brilliant! And does more to end racism than all the sign-waving and carrying on and sit-ins... Apologize? Satire is wonderful in its ability to tear down stereotypes.

Also, apologize to who or what? We shouldn't be demanding apologies from Eddie Murphy any more than Eddie Murphy should be demanding apologies from Al Jolson.

Times change... standards change. The history remains. Learn from it... and evolve. That's what we do. And I would argue that as a nation (and a species) we 'evolved' more between 1950 and 2008... than we did in the tens of thousands of years of pre-history and history as a species.

Humans are (and I've said this before) acquisitive, inquisitive, tribal, violent, tool-making apes. And one of the reasons for our success as a species was an ability to come together in groups and tribes and protect those groups and tribes. Allowing cities, captured knowledge, language and, yes, promoting competition. We are wired in our very DNA to 'fear the other' and focus on group. It's how we evolved and got out of the trees. Xenophobia is a survival mechanism. And it works for every species. Especially us.

Can we evolve past this? Certainly. But it will take time. Can we, in the interim, learn standards and behaviors that help make this tribalism less apparent and, daresay, damaging on a crowded planet. I think so. But it's going to take more than 2 generations and a whole lot of wistful Utopian thinking.

But what WILL help, is to drop political correctness... stop treating everything as some kind of butthurt... and embrace the fact that humor will darn-well do more good than whining. Because dating back 10,000 years, noone likes a whiner.

Cheers,

Sirhr
