New member here after lurking for a long time. Just moved to central NC from Lynchburg VA. Now that I married into a family with land that makes 500 yd shots regular. I decided to buy a rifle that could grow with my abilities. I have a brand new 700 sps tac in 6.5 cm with an Athlon ares btr 2.5-15. I look forward to absorbing all the knowledge I can to be a good LR shooter.

Welcome from central NC as well! You lucked out with having private land to shoot on, I've been looking for a while and I've been striking out on every lead I can find lol
Welcome. "Central NC" can be anything from Winston-Salem to east of Raleigh, south of that line halfway to Fayetteville.

I live in Apex but will be doing most of my hunting in Newton Grove and Roseboro. I plan on joining the Frontline Defense range and shooting in occasional matches there and elsewhere( I’ll be looking out for other places) as time allows.
I'm a new guy to N.C. as well, after moving from New Mexico 3 years ago.
Quite a change from the Albuquerque area to Moyock!
I'm not new to shooting though and it's another shock coming from an area with 3 multi-distance and multi-discipline ranges to here where ranges are few and far between, and anythng over 300 yds is in a farmers bean field (with permission), or at Frontline for me.
All that said, I find the people here as friendly and willing to share as any I've seen.
One reason I joined the forum is a new build I'm considering:
I have a CZ 527 WMR Varmint in 6.5 Grendel and want to re-barrel it to a 6mm such as the 6mm Grinch or the 6mm AR Turbo.
Trouble is finding dies.
Robert Whitley hasn't returned any of my attempts at communication...
Any help would be appreciated.
