Rifle Scopes Valdada 6-24x56 35mm FFP SF MIL/MIL

Re: Valdada 6-24x56 35mm FFP SF MIL/MIL

16 mils with a normal heavy loaded 300 gr lapua will only get you to one mileish (is that a word) with a one hundred yard zero and that is assuming that you can get a zero with the elevation turret bottomed out, which is unlikely. Not sure of your location (update profile) but if you shoot at 10000' DA you could almost get to a mile with 16 mils.

No I'm more like 800-900 feet above Sea. And that sucks, The M8P reticle looks great. But I guess I don't care for getting zeroed at a Mile (If that's what you meant and if that's possible, just saying that cause I'm a noob.) I just want to be able to use this optic out to a mile, Not Zero at a mile but use one of the the lower hash marks as my impact point. I know this is a really noobish question but please hold your insults (If you have any). I'm kind of new to MRAD.

The 250 is not a great choice for the mile part of your equation. It will work, but not ideal. A canted base will fix your problems with the travel available in the scope. I am thinking 30 moa. That should give you enough room to zero at a reasonable range (100-300) and get you to a mile without having to holdover. The downfall to the 250 bullets is they may not be supersonic at a mile and if they transition through the sound barrier before the target, they will not be consistent. Meaning that the 250 do not transition consistently at all, expecially at the DA you referenced.

The thing guys often leave out of these question are what you will be shooting at.

Are you shooting gongs, rocks, Larues, Tractor engine blocks? The size of the target will factor into this.

A fixed 10x can be sufficent on 1'x1' plates out to 1K so depending on size of target 15x may or may not work for you.
