Just bought a brick of Eley Club, out of the 1st box of fifty 10% failed to fire, and had one squib load that dropped out of the group at 50 yards by a foot. At hundred yards the groups were about 3 to 3.5 inches. suck ass!

What rifle?

Try CCI SV 50rd paper boxes. It will tighten the head space issue and should shoot with Eley Club. In my Vudoo the SV smokes the two different lots of Club I've shot.

Lapua CenterX. I haven't had good success with anything else. Sometimes I feel like the only guy with a rifle that won't shoot ragged holes with cheap bulk ammo.

My Vudoo shoots respectable with the lots of CCI SV I have. Center-X has never came close to the case of SK Rifle Match I have at 50/100/200 yds.
Rimfire variables can drive you crazy.

Before I bought the Club, I was shooting Wolf Match. I am looking for something that will consistently shoot at or under 1 inch at 100 yards.

Based on my past history of shooting, in general I will have the best chance of shooting .5" or less by using Lapua Center-X, Pistol King or SK Rifle Match. I would recommend going to Good Shooting and buying 5 boxes each of the three above. Obviously buy more if you desire but at least include those three.

I started shooting 3 position smallbore back in 1985. My practice ammo was Eley Club. Never in all the years did it ever fail. Now in my Vudoo I shoot Eley Black. Your probably getting light strikes. The brass I believe is a little harder then say Lapua. My Anschutz 1813 and 54MS loved it. My Vudoo needed more spring tension.

You may have:
Firing pin protrusion issue,
Light strike issue (I would bet on this as lightweight custom triggers often have lighter springs)
Headspace issue

I would try some Lapua center-X if your looking to step up from the wolf. You may be interested to know that that Wolf is made by the same folks that do the Lapua and is the same brass. You should have better ignition results with it.

As for the Eley, I really doubt it is truly defective. I expect it just doesn't agree with your rig probably because it needs a swifter kick in the ass to get it going than your firing pin spring is delivering.

I do not know when exactly they started, but at least for the last couple of years wolf 22lr switched from sk / lapua to eley.

As for the OP "I am looking for something that will consistently shoot at or under 1 inch at 100 yards" that expectation may be a little to high for a ruger 10/22 with just a kidd barrel. I do not believe a kidd sg can do this at 100 yards consistently ? And before someone gets all out of shape about my last comment, consistently in my book means numerous 10 shoot groups on one target sheet.....not these cherry picked groups we all get sometimes.
Just have a look at the threat from Orkan where he demonstrates his new 22lr rim-x, look at the skill from this guy and what he invested in to get these incredible results. I believe a 10/22 will not get you or me (I own one too) there.

I never had any miss-fires with the wolf or and plinking ammo. The Club lot # 3119-30047. Based on more research I also do not think 1 inch groups at 100 is realistic for my rig. My new goal is 1 and half at 100. Some of it has to Operator error, my trigger is a modified stock one that sucks.

Consistent sub-moa at 100 yards?
No problem. No problem at all.
It just won't be with rimfire. :D

The only thing worse on the Eley line is Eley Target.
Eley Club is nowhere near consistent enough for my purposes.
Maybe for use at 25 yards or practice ammo at 50.
My chrony numbers and target results tell the tale. :(

Then again, in the rimfire production lottery, ya' could get a good batch that slipped past the factory lot grading. ;)

Littlepod your experience with CX matches my own. Would you happen to know the first two digits of the lot #"s and can you please report the rifle used for the stats? As for Wolf ammo about two years ago Lapua stopped making it and Eley began. You can tell which from the box and the headstamp. I would however, rank either Wolf higher than Eley Club.

Based on chronograph numbers from years of testing rimfire, Benny.
Match grade 22lr needs to have an ES of less than 40 fps to attain sub-moa at 100 yards.
The majority of the 22lr I've been shipped has been unable to attain that level of quality control.
The few batches that did do well, didn't with the next batch delivered.
Add in shooter skill level, cartridge defects, rifle, setup stability, bench, wind...
it's extremely difficult to obtain consistent sub-moa at 100 yards with rimfire cartridges.
Even the indoor test facilities run by Lapua, Eley and RWS show problems at 100 yards (meters?)
That's why lot testing is critical for those who compete at the top levels.
Trying to find the quality ammunition that will allow them to win.
They have to work at it.

I have 4 lots of CX, I don't remember the #'s. I never did any Lapua testing stuff so I just had a few hundred rounds of each. The one I still have left is -
