Night Vision Video of sounder number two from this weekend.

Hey Texas, have you done a separate review of the Ultimate Night Vision MDVR? If not, what is your overall impression? I see what appears to be several of your videos on their site. How long do the batteries hold out? Does it have internal batteries or can you carry a spare in the field? For $240 with the plug needed for a Thor, it seems like a decent price point, as opposed to an Angel Eye and a bunch of home-spliced cables.

No I guess I need to do that. My only experience so far with dvr's is the angle eye and the MDVR from Ultimate. I don't think any of the videos on their site are mine. Overall I am very happy with the MDVR. There is a battery that can be removed but I have not tried to source a spare. Battery life seems to be very good but it's also not running all the time only when I am shooting, have not tried to source extra batteries yet. I have accidentally turned it on and left it running but it has the option to only record for so long then turn off. Mine is set for 60 minutes so that is the maximum run time. Big pluses for me are it records 720 resolution at 30fps and it records sound. There is also the option for an external mic. But the biggest plus for me is the instant on record switch. I have that mounted to my hand guard so when It's time to record hit the switch and the unit turns on gives two short vibrations and starts recording. Flip the switch off and the recording stops and the unit turns off. This feature alone is worth it to me now no wires running from the weapon to me and no looking for the on off button and record button in the dark. Hope that helps Ill try to do an in depth review later of all the settings.
