Rifle Scopes Vintage Redfield LE-12

I ended up with a 90's era Remington 700 PSS that had a Redfield LE-12 mounted on it. The rifle and scope appear unused and I was about to pull the scope off and toss it in the safe, when I decided to look it up and found it was a US made scope and somewhat rare. I'm wondering if anyone else has happened across one of these and can tell me a little more about them.
