I just wanted to say. These are great vices. I spoke to the manufacturer and owner Bob, great guy a while back calling because I lost a couple of the springs on mine which he replaced no questions asked. He told me he has made 150K units and the warranty is his lifetime. Lose hardware he'll replace it, if the powder coat ever chips you'll get a new one.

Don’t mean to hijack the thread but is anyone else using this vise with proof prefit barrels/bighorn actions? I love the vise but am concerned about clamping onto the carbon portion of the barrel when installing/removing barrels.
I'm not so experienced with this but I don't think you are supposed to clamp on the carbon. I think you are supposed to keep it on the steel with just enough room to get the action on. I'm sure there's some others here who can comment fully on how they do the CF stuff.
- by that I mean, I think they tighten down the one side that would be on the steel and let the "back side" that would be on the carbon, just sit snug and not tight.
I wish I had seen this ad before I paid more from a well known supplier...
