Virginia state of emergency

who is Amanda Bynes? I had to look it up. At least its better than when @MtnCreek was trying to get me to look up something I suspected was porn.

Also, how do you guys know so much about all these useless people who think they are special by being "famous"? You should study ballistics or reload more. Or go mess with your wife and ask if she wants a back rub. And actually rub it for more than 4 minutes before trying to hump her.

I will say, except Selma Hayek. She is worth knowing about. And I saw a picture of the Jennifer Aniston gal the other day. She could use a sammich, but she is darn cute. Prolly crazier than average too!

As for VA, this is something. I wouldn't go to that crap without a CCW piece at least. Im undecided about the open carry. I see the point, worry some asshat will pose as a 2A supporter and start it off.
Probably better to do that on a day other than "Lobby Day" in mass around the capital. 15k supporters with ARs and 6 mags each is a good start.....

She (It) was a joke when I was working at company in Georgia...a guy I worked with had the hots for her, then the roof caved in...much like in VA...bad decision after bad decision. In all seriousness, this VA issue should underscore that voting is important. State and local elections ARE important, very important and have consequences bigger than most people (surely not on SH) realize.

Am I allowed to look at Elizabeth Hurley still? I mean foxnews.com has a lot of pictures of her at times.

Although many of the engagements of the American Revolution were conventional, guerrilla warfare was used to a certain extent during this conflict from 1775–1783, which made a significant impact. Guerrilla tactics were first used at the Battles of Lexington and Concord by the Patriots at April 19, 1775. George Washington sometimes used some sort of unconventional methods to fight the British. During the Forage War, George Washington sent militia units with limited Continental Army support to launch raids and ambushes on British detachments and forage parties, the militia, and Continental Army support would skirmish with British detachments in small-scale battles and engagements. Throughout the Forage War, British casualties exceeded past 900. The Forage War raised morale for the Patriots as their guerrilla operations against the British were very effective. Next, there are other Americans that used hit and run raids, ambushes, and surprise attacks against the British such as William R. Davie, David Wooster, Francis Marion, Shadrach Inman, Daniel Morgan, Morgan's riflemen, and the Overmountain Men. All these American guerrilla fighters did their part by using unconventional tactics to fight the British and loyalists. Nathanael Greene used a guerrilla strategy very effectively against Lord Cornwallis. First, Nathanael Greene would keep retreating to lure the British far from their supply lines, then send out his forces to fight in small skirmishes and engagements with British detachments to weaken them. Then fighting the conventional battle, Nathanael Greene fought Lord Cornwallis at Guilford Court House and gave him a severe blow. Although Lord Cornwallis was the victor, his victory was pyrrhic as he had too many casualties that he could ill afford. After the British surrender at Yorktown and America gaining their independence, many of these Americans who used guerrilla tactics and strategies became immortalized and romanticized as time passed. Although guerrilla warfare was frequently used when avoiding battles, the Americans fought in conventional linear formations in decisive battles against the British. The American Revolution could be seen as a hybrid war since both conventional and guerrilla warfare was used throughout its duration.

Well, while Notham's reaction is predictable, if not asshole-ish, he's right-it is a state od emergency-but not for why he thinks.

Ill preface this with 'dont try this at home' and 'Im not condoning anything'.

I don't even think he realizes that his gov mansion (and pretty much any dwelling) is what we'd refer to as a 2 squad job. 1 blocking and security element, 1 assaulting. The planning phase is the longest portion of that entire equation.

The fact that hes going to have 20,30,40k+ people out there in force and his response is to 'ban the guns around me when they come' just makes me LOL.

I shall constantly bear in Mind, that as the Sword was the last Resort for the preservation of our Liberties, so it ought to be the first thing laid aside, when those Liberties are firmly established.

mmmm.....didn't VA pass a law back in 2012 that in a state of emergency that "nothing in the Emergency Services and Disaster Law shall be interpreted to limit or prohibit the otherwise lawful possession, carrying, transportation, sale, or transfer of firearms??
This is the language in HB 20. Also identical to SB 245.

We had a small vacation community (former KOA), and the nearby community was very cold toward us.

One Saturday, we did all our shopping in that town, always paying the tab with $100 bills.

The attitudes changed right then.

Yes. Gov Blackface is trying to get around that by declaring that Capitol Square is a "shelter".
These "shelters" declared during real and actual states of emergency are usually large school buildings and other local/state owned buildings and used as hurricane shelters and such. A large park with no shelter doesn't make much of a shelter even if he puts up a bunch of fencing.

Several groups (VCDL and others) are looking into injunctions and such (legal stuff) to get this fixed from what I have read.

frankly i think surrounding the fences is a better idea anyways. one, we're not trapped inside them should something bad happen. and two, seeing us wrapped all around the perimeter is probably a better show of force. of course i'd just prefer no fences, and firearms allowed.

its either that or take over the fenced in area as a sign of force. The hard part would be stopping after that and not razing the capital though.

Yeah, the square itself has a large iron bar fence around most of it, with limited ingress/egress points already. With them further locking down the park with more fencing and forcing a single point of entry, and a handful of exits and locking down the large front side, being trapped inside that fence if the SHTF will lead to people being trampled to death. I don't see how they think this is a good idea at all. It's also a rathe small park. There is probably a maximum occupancy count they will start enforcing, leading to a ton of people out on the streets and sidewalks that will shut traffic down.
It's going to be rather interesting on Monday to say the least. I'm wondering if we will even be able to get into the area at all due to traffic and lack of parking (even at satellite parking lots with shuttles.) I-95/I-64/I-195 are clusters in that area as it is.

GOA and VCDL File Suit to Strike Down Gov. Northam's Illegal Gun Ban

Please make an EMERGENCY contribution to help fund GOA's lawsuit against Governor Northam. We are determined not to let this governor run roughshod over our gun rights. But every step of the way comes with a price tag. WE NEED YOU!

You Can Help GOA Fight the Governor's Gun Ban!

As you are no doubt aware, Virginia Gov. “Blackface” Northam declared a “State of Emergency” for the capital area for Monday’s Lobby Day in Richmond.

The Governor’s action is illegitimate and cannot be allowed to stand.

mail

GOA and VCDL are challenging Gov. Northam's illegal gun ban in court.

Gun Owners of America and the Virginia Citizens Defense League (VCDL) are filing an Emergency Injunction against the governor’s actions.

His action infringes on both the First and Second Amendment rights of Virginian’s who wish to peaceably assemble to petition their government, while at the same time not surrendering their right to self-defense.
This rally is held annually with thousands of participants and without incident. The only difference this year is that, in response to the Democrats’ attempt to eviscerate the Second Amendment, a much larger crowd is expected.

Incredibly, Northam is using the 2017 rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, in support of his ban on firearms, ignoring the fact that the unfortunate death that day was a vehicular homicide.

Northam hasn’t made any attempt to ban cars.

Like all gun control, this gun ban could have only negative consequences. If there are, in fact, any bad actors who would attempt to hijack the rally, they would simply ignore the law.

Over the next 24 hours, GOA and VCDL lawyers will be in court fighting the ban.

Stand and fight alongside us as we take on Gov. Northam. Please make an EMERGENCY contribution to help sustain GOA's lawsuit against the Governor.
We are determined not to let this governor run roughshod over our gun rights.
But every step of the way comes with a price tag. WE NEED YOU!
The next 24 hours are critical for the defense of our Second Amendment.

A 2012 law strictly limits the governor’s ability to ban gun in a state of emergency, and a political rally falls way outside his reach. We will fight this power grab and hope you will stand with us.

So, if you can, please help fund GOA’s emergency injunction today.

We know that many gun owners—both in Virginia and across the country—are planning to attend the Lobby Day in Richmond. We are excited to see you there. But if you plan to attend Lobby Day, remember the eyes of the media—and the country—will be on us!

Donated. Stick it to 'em!

I’ve heard conflicting reports? But this is pretty recent.
It can still get shot down of the federal level? I didn’t go to Political Science school

So governor is in violation of va laws and the Constitution.

Should be arresred.

In Texas we also have a law about using state of emergency to disarm the public.
Basically they cant.

This was brought on by that ass hat jingle in Louisiana.

*VA house passes bill revoking voter ID law.

*VA house passes bill to give their electoral vote to the national winner.

Once/if signed into law it will solidify blue power for generations and the foreseeable future.

Probably a good lesson of what is coming to your/my state.

Hey, Virginia, welcome to California. This is what happens when people in a free state are apathetic and complacent for 2 election cycles.
well, certainly one election cycle. but yeah you're right and hopefully now that we've seen what they ARE DOING while in power, we'll get off our asses and vote come November. but we did have signs before this past nov as they pre-filed some real POS bills.

Not to mention the GOV wants to allow illegals to get driver's licenses.....Yeeeaaaaaaa......about that.

They don't intend to go door to door. You just have to look at history on how this works. They are playing the long game and time is on their side. Once it's illegal to own what are you going to do? Leave it in the gun safe? Bury it? It's a useless piece of metal at that point. The Troopers will enforce the law if you are pulled over and their dog gives them "probable cause" or you being nervous, because it's in your trunk, gives them "probable cause" to search your vehicle. How about you don't answer any questions they ask during the stop for a license plate light and they determine that you are acting "suspicious" and that gives them "probable cause".
Ask the guy in New Jersey that had a spent 12 ga shell under the seat of his truck. He was arrested and his truck impounded. Thousands upon thousands of dollars for legal bills for a spent shell?
It won't take long before everyone falls in line with the king's policies. Ask Cali, NY, NJ and several others residents about it.
+1
The simple fact that Va. is like it is today is because many say an said, that will never happen. The other thing interesting is at times one must push the bounds, to see the reactions to judge when an where the bulk of resources need to be. Other a/o's will just simply walk to the cattle cars on their own. Intel comes in many different forms, then when you have gathered the info you need simply refute the story in the first place. Much like snoops, for years everyone thought they were the truth sayers, until it was proved they are ran but the left.
Here is a long article explaining why the Virginia State Police will not be confiscating firearms. I'm not saying I agree with it entirely but just passing this along.

At this point in time the following holds a special place for some about a few things going on in this country,... The know it all's,... have brought this country to the state it's now in. It's now time they reap what they sowed in spades,...

Like in all things, talk is cheap. For the know it all's it's nothing but rainbows an unicorns as long as they can trade worthless inked paper for what is truly tangible. Once their worthless inked paper is no longer tangible to others only then will they know what is an is not,... worth it's salt,...
Silver spoons unite your crops are about to come it,...

Agreed. I have said that it's going to be the $$$ the gov is printing that's going to be the kickoff.
The Fed tried raising the interest rate and servicing the debt went beyond expectations. As long as they can pay interest with real money it's all good. Once they can't?? Who knows what it's going to look like.

Who knows what it's going to look like.
It's going to be very ugly for some,... hard for others,... an nothing for a small number of americans who never bought into the jones game in the first place.
I was warned as a kid I would see pay day an pay back, an never ever trust money, debt, as a be all.
