Volquartsen Steel Receiver with KIDD Match Barrel?

I just recently acquired a Volquartsen Stainless Steel Replacement Receiver. I am looking to put a barrel on it. I was looking at KIDD barrels, but the tendon is .025 inch oversize. Has anyone ever been able to mate both of these? I want to make sure there isn't any fitment issues.

Not sure you'll get them to fit. You won't know until you get them both and actually measure them. Tolerance stacking could lead to a nice fit. Heat the reciever in the oven and put the barrel in the freezer.

Hmm never though about heating the receiver. Wonder if a heat gun would be better than baking the thing.

Heat gun would also work.......oven just tends to be a little more uniform, only a suggestion. Do as you see fit. Lol pun intended.

Never baked my receivers. What temps should I stay under?

You say its stainless steel? Put it in at 250 for like an hour. That should be plenty. The real truck is the barrel in the freezer. Like I said depends on the final tolerances but that will be your best shot at a fit if the tennon is a little big. If you can't get it to fit, it's an easy fix regardless.

anti-seize grease also. Helps if you have to rotate it once the barrel is in.
