Hi everyone. I'm finishing college soon and wanted to get myself a Vortex Razor HD Gen II and get in to PRS with it. I was looking around and noticed the EBR-2C is about $600 less than the Tremor3 model. This is my first major scope purchase and was wondering if the extra $600 for the Tremor3 was worthwhile? I'm currently using a Vortex Viper PST Gen 1 with the EBR-1C Reticle.

The Tremor reticles can be rather "busy" but they do have their place. If you plan on not dialing and using strictly the reticle, they can work rather well once you learn how to use it.

The 2C has an open center, and the 7C has a floating dot.

I picked up two, each with the 2C when the 7C came out for prices too good to pass on..

If an open center does it for you, go for it.

Some will say the open center doesn't give you an aiming point, and they are correct, but I don't feel that my reticle has ever held me back.

Keep an eye on the PX as there are some smoking deals to be had.

Fan of the now discontinued 2C reticle. I am on the fence about the 7C.
I like the 2C as you do. I am off the fence of the 7C. I do not like it at all. I sold two razors and two AMGs because of that reticle. It is the only reticle to date that i just don’t like.

As mentioned it's personal preference. I also don't care for the Tremor or other Horus offerings but the 2C and 7C are excellent and very usable reticles. I like both.

2c works perfectly fine , save the cash and spend it on ammo / components

The extra $600 goes directly to Horus.

I like the simpler TMR style for dialing elevation.

I like my sig Dev-l for holding on my rimfire. It's less busy than the Horus, but has enough info to use 100% holds out to 300+ yards. I only use it because the 2 minute time limit on nrl22 matches is tight dialing when you have to go out and back multiple times.

I have a 2c and 7c for PRS. I prefer the 7c center dot and the .2 graduations on windage. I wouldn't consider the extra money for the tremor3 worth it unless you can use it to its full potential.

IMHO I wouldn’t get the tremor3 reticle unless your hunting game, or boar. I believe those lead dots are for running game. If you want to spend the extra money get the H59 reticle, and that’s a good foundation to learn from.
I myself have a razor gen2 4.5-27x56 in H59. And I also have a viper PST gen2 in EBR-7C. If you wanna save some coin get the EBR-7C you won’t be disappointed, but if you want a good resale value get the H59.

Running game as in 2 legs. Yes.

Resale on7c > h59 all day

Where did you get the idea the dots are “lead dots for running game”?
