Is it worth the extra 100 dollars for the 6.5-20x50 rather than the 6.5-20x44 is there a clarity difference also is the glass really comparable to a mark 4 that cost over double the vipers price and also for all around shooting what is the retical of choice

I just got a 6.5-20x50. I got it with the v-plex and I love it. it is going on a savage mark II TR .22. i got mine from a local shop for under $500 bucks. It looks like a great scope i havent used it yet cause im waiting for the gun to come back from getting theaded. I have always like 50mm rather than a 40mm thats why i went with the 50mm.

I am holding a friends Viper 6.5-20x44 in my hands right now and to be honest with you the glass is just as good if not better than any Leupold I've ever looked through and frankly I can't see where the 50mm objective would have any major advantage over the 44mm.
All aspects of this scope are very impressive for the coin and overall craftsmanship is quite impressive to say the least. All my tactical rifles have S&Bs on them but I will be ordering one of these today to mount on one of my dedicated hunting rigs.
Reticle choice is subject to personal preference and application.

I have these Viper scopes, both 6-20-50 and 44 on four different rifles. For the value they offer, nothing can compare. The 50 gathers a bit more lite for dusk and dawn hunting. For the extra $100, it's a coin toss. Can't wait for the PST to hit, should be an excellent tactical addition to my collection.

That's what I'm debating on now I'll just save a little long and buy the pst unless I find a deal I can't pass up thanks guys

Can anybody give a good comparison of the Viper to a Monarch? I've compared the 2 side by side outside a store mid day. They appeared to be about equal on all powers, with the Monarch MAYBE having a little better clarity, MAYBE. It was too close to call for sure. I'd like to hear if anybody has or can compare the 2 in low light and report back.
