Rifle Scopes Vortex VMX3 magnifier?

Has anyone used one before? It looks like a good and less expensive substitute to the eotech magnifier which is four times as much as the vortex version. Id most likely be using this while on a perimeter, more than likely no further than 75 yards.

I'd also be interested if anyone has any first hand experience. The fact is that these are just monoculars with no special reticles, adjustment, etc. The incredibly expensive prices seem crazy to me.

I have looked through the 2x units that come with the strikefire and the sparc they seem much clearer together as opposed to the 2x truglow unit that I tried. The truglow unit was BAAAAAAAAD. it was very distorted and wavy, I took it back
