Rifle Scopes vortex warranty who has used it? also Bushnells.

Re: vortex warranty who has used it? also Bushnells.

I haven't used it, but I have read tat Bushnell has about a good a warranty as there is, especially with the "no questions asked" policy for the first year. They also make a great product in their price category. My Elite 4200 6-24x50 is a great piece of kit. Even better than many scopes priced higher (I think it's every bit as good as comparable Leupolds.

Based on the guys who were talking about the FFP Bushnell spotters that had issues and some of the crap that Bushnell gave them on their returns/exchanges and knowing some guys that have used the Vortex CS, I'd say Vortex wins the CS debate.

Vortex has members here and has jumped in to help guys out before they even had a chance to call CS. Can't say that for Bushnell.

That being said. What model of spotting scope from Vortex do you all recommend. wanting to see 6mm bullet holes at least 300yds.

I purchased a Skyline ED and it arrived missing the focus knob. One phone call later and a new one was enroute including a return shipping label for the bad one. A+ for their CS and as for the scope--it is great. I dont think you can beat it for the money!

i bought a millett scope and now bushnell owns the brand. love the customer service. they called me, we talked, i told them what my issue was and what i wanted to make me happy. old scope on the way to them, new scope on the way to me. the guy is even having the techs go over the scope before it mails out. you may have to go up the chain a little. my first two calls i didnt get free shipping to them. third call, i got a UPS label for free return postage. totally happy

Re: vortex warranty who has used it? also Bushnell

I was just at a local high end hunting gear shop here in PHX that sells all of the Vortex top line stuff. He told me that they had a guy who manage to break a set of Vortex Binos during a hunt. He called them to see what could be done and they called Vortex. Vortex told him to just give the customer a replacement set of Binos out of their stock so he could get back to hunting and they would send the store a replacement.

I've used the Vortex warranty.

Can't go wrong with the Viper. Here's my experience with my 6.5-20x50mm.

I bought a used one here on the Hide last year. I used it for around 400+ shots and noticed the zoom ring was maybe a little loose. I just never noticed it so I figured I would ask their tech support. They put an engineer on the phone, and we went over the symptoms, he said to send it in. I was waiting on another rifle build at the time so I said why not. The scope was still performing perfectly but I really just wanted to ask about it. Maybe 3 days they emailed back that the movement was outside of spec and they would be sending me a new scope. I asked for the mil-dot version which hadn't been released yet and they made the swap! I had to pay the difference for the Wide-plex vs Mildot but I love my Mil-Dot Viper. Sent me a brand new Mil-Dot. It has over 600 shots under it now.

Any time I've contact their compnay by email, I have normally gotten a response with in hours.

I was thinking about trading in my Viper when the Viper PST's come out but in all likelyhood I will just add another Vortex to my lineup.

Goog luck.

What does the ED glass get me. the vortex ED skyline is over 700.00 and the non ED spotter is under 500.00.
what does the ED get me.

PS this scope is going to be used primarily for range work.

Doug at Cameralandny would give you support/comp info as well. Good guy to deal with!

or Liberty Optics - Scott is GTG as well.

They can give you a better idea on comps and how each company backs their products.

just an idea

Re: vortex warranty who has used it? also Bushnell

I found a junk Bushnell Banner scope when first starting out that wouldn't keep zero and Bushnell replaced it without question. A month ago, I sent a Bushnell Elite 4200 scope in that I bought used because the lens coating was starting to come off. Again, they sent me another new scope.
