Well, I'll throw in my .02: Wally-World is an american company who has done a ton of good, The Walton family and WalMart corporation combined is among the top 5 most charitable entities in this country. They do move in to small towns where there is no job market and give people jobs.
That being said: they take those workers, pay them the absolute minimum possible, no benefits, no perks, then have the balls to hold meetings telling their staff where and how to get on government programs. They (as I recall) are exempt from Obama-care because of their lobbying in DC. They throw employees away if they get the chance, if the worker has gotten hurt. They send a TON of their money to china (still an enemy to the US, mind you) and they Viciously go after the Mon-and-Pop shops, to run them out of the town they've been in, sometimes for generations. Also, dont fool yourselves: If they could make another 1/10th of a penny per square foot; they'd drop the rifles, the ammo, and everything else in a gnat's heartbeat. They have NO loyalty to you the customer, to the worker, or to anyone else except themselves and the shareholders. Note that you NEVER will see a handgun there?? It was a PR thing back in the '90s They dumped 'em after they heard some news show was gonna do a special about buying a handgun through a big box store. Personally, I avoid wallyworld if at all possible, and it is very possible. It could be a year or better before I drop in, but Im close enough to a city to have options.
Round Here: The LGS is usually only a buck or 2 more than china-mart for fuel, and rifles are usually a wash. Infact: our CAL store runs those about $10 cheaper. Not a bad shooter, the .243 I had was just under MOA with the right loads. But the barrel burned out pretty quick, the scope was always crap, the stock no better. Basically Id've kept it for a builder, but I wasn't into LR shooting or building one yet.
