I am looking for a way to display my rifles on a wall in my gun room.They of course stay in my safe when I am away.Want some sort of light hook and at the same time heavy enough to hold 10-15lb rifles with scopes. All the gun racks I have seen are larger than required, bulky and takes away your focus on your rifles. Looking to hang 5 or 6. Any ideas or pictures would be greatly appreciated

Re: Ways to Display Rifles

I have a large room with peg board on the walls in 4x8 sheets. I use heavy duty peg board prongs and hang even my 35lb .50 cal rifle. seems to work real nice. I have about 60 on display. My room is my safe and its secure.

The slat wall may be stronger, see alot of this at gun shops. It would also look better if you want/need it to be more presentable. If I ever win it big, the display could stay that way with the room being the safe, a huge walk in!

Here's my custom rack I posted up a few years back;

Local guy here in Rochester, very talented. I think the technique he used was a frame with a thinner mahogony veneer. The base is a work of art too.

Spend many a hour here scotch in hand......

Very well done.

But you live in NY? Why not in a safe?

Chiller; Not anywhere near NYC, 300 miles away. I'm in a small village South of Rochester, 3 minute drive and I'm in farmland.

Yes I have a have a safe, rack is for display, scotch and cigars with the boys.

Can you help with explaining a slat wall and how it would work? Thanks
