Some buddies and I have a need to load some 'cheap' plinking ammo. Is this a good powder for us to pick up?

We'll mostly be plinking and running some carbine matches that I'm sure will be mainly <100yds and maybe 10% of the shots will be past 100yds. So far the matches have been fun but buying factory ammo is hurting me.

We're just starting up loading on a progressive (been doing pistol for a while) and looking for a good powder. I hear H335 is a very popular powder along with Ramshot TAC. However, this WC844 appears to be pull downs from XM193. My Google searches seem positive so far.

What's collective opinion on this stuff ? $85 vs $140 for 8lb jug so it looks good.

Load data appears to be very similar. I'm thinking this with some CCI 41's and some Hornady 55gr FMJBT and we'll be g2g.

Appreciate any advice!

I had no problems hitting a 5x5 target with 55gr pull down fmj bullets and pull down wc844. It is the perfect practice load for me.

i shoot a LOT of 844 and 846. it is just as good as its commercial counterpart. my buddy has a 22br that will average under 1/4" with the 844 and 40gr vmax.

GTG for plinking. If you want precision, try the 52/53gr BTHP's.

Saw a group shot with the 52gr bullets at 600yds one time, 8" but they were coming in sub-sonic.
