So after numerous rifles (bolt action and semi/custom and factory) I decided to buy a GAP crusader. I was terrified to spend that amount of money but I started selling some of my other gear to buy this one.

Took off my Vortex HD EBR2B from my custom .260 Remmy that "Stick" at S&S Precision built for me and took it to the range today with 2 boxes of FGMM 168.

1st shoot from bore sight centered 4" low. Adjusted and 2nd shot centered 1.75" high (guess I had my head in my butt).

Rounds 3-10 in one ragged hole...OMG. So I went to the 200 yard line to continue my break in and fired two different 5 shot strings. 1st 200 yard group approx. 3/8" and second group approx 5/8". I decided to stop while I was ahead.

I've had hell grouping with the EBR2B reticule but I guess I need to keep it on this stick. This rifle is so much better than I am it's scary! I'm totally in love!

Re: Well I bought a GAP Crusader

I started with a Crusader just as you did...with the same initial results and impressions. That rifle is just absolutely sick stable when you get behind it. Now it's two GAPs later with a fourth on the way. Best to prepare yourself mentally now for becoming an organ donor to pay for your newly acquired disorder (LOL). Congrats!

GAP...enuff said! It's that magic fairy dust that they use

. Takes away most all the excuses you can come up with. Go shoot often and enjoy every shot

.

Now, if there are any performance problems you know right where to look

Re: Well I bought a GAP Crusader

I have 2 GAPS and they both shoot lights out. My very first 5 shot group after 3 shots to get to zero was under a dime. Couldn't believe it. Great stuff.

I shoot at NTSA up in Sanger...

Sold my bench gun and a .450 Bushmaster upper to fund this one. I'm already worried I will spend my children's college funds on more.

My wife thinks I have a "shooting" problem and should seek help. I think she's planning an intervention...

Re: Well I bought a GAP Crusader

Welcome to the ADDICTION!!!

I don't shoot my Gaps at 100 or 200 anymore
smile.gif
....too predictable.

Shot my G 260 at 600 and about sh|t myself. Three shots were 2.5 inches and 4-5 were to the right from not adjusting for wind.

I need to work a load up for my Crusader now.

They are scary...in a good way.

Re: Well I bought a GAP Crusader

I've had mine for almost 5 years now. While I don't get to shoot it NEAR as much as I want to, I have been in two comps so far, as well as a number of 'fun-shoots'.

Each time, it impresses the hell out of me, and shoots better than I do.

You won't be sorry. Put the best glass on there that you can. It makes a difference.

Re: Well I bought a GAP Crusader

They are the proverbial cats ass.I have just over 3000 rds on mine.It shoots better now than it ever has or maybe i am just use to it.It almost shoots itself. Goerge and the crew have got their stuff togeather.

Re: Well I bought a GAP Crusader

Guess i need another one... Moon built mine( acquired from a gent in Alaska)and it never fails to impress me with accuracy. You cannot go wrong buying a quality build, period.
