So I just put a new scope on my R700 .308. It's a Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50, vortex precision matched rings. I zeroed once last week at 100yds and was running out of elevation in the turrets and it was a few thousands of an inch misaligned. I tore it down and put a badger 20 MOA base on it, aligned everything perfectly and took it out today. 9 rounds to zero after an eyeball bore sight and shot a .237 3 round group. I'm wishing I wouldn't have fired the next two rounds because I got sloppy and blew the 5 round group to a .756. I cannot speak enough praise about vortex and badger though. Amazing quality! Most of you already know about it but for the new guys and new-ish guys like myself, I thought that I would put it out there. Proper torques were a big help too. I originally bought it from a hide member for my 338LM that I ordered in Feb. and I just found out that it won't be delivered until August so I put it on my 308 and love it. Now I'm going to have to buy another.
Awesome to hear. I picked up the same optics from a member here as well. For someone just getting into precision rifle, it's definitely a great bang for buck.
I have same scope FFP and I half ass zerod it in but I need to get back out there and check it cause it was freezing cold when I did it and was running out of daylight. I'm for sure on paper though. Being my first scoped/bolt gun it took me a few shots just to get on paper and it didnt help I forgot to account for the 20 moa base.
